Keyes Says Christ Would Not Vote For Obama

Republican Candidate Says 'Spanking' Comment Insulting

CHICAGO -- Illinois Republican U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes injected religion into his race against Democratic candidate Barack Obama on Tuesday.

According to a list of quotes put out by the Democratic candidate, Keyes said in a radio interview at the Republican National Convention that Jesus would not vote for Obama. The quote was part of a list Obama sent reporters of Keyes' accusations and epithets about him since Keyes became a candidate, NBC5 political editor Dick Kay said.

 

Kay also reported that Keyes called Obama a "socialist and a liar" on a cable access news show on Monday. Obama said he wants to win big to give Keyes a spanking because Keyes wages a scorched earth campaign. Keyes then went into a very long analysis of the word "spanking" and suggested it might be related to slavery and insulting to African- Americans. He would not answer when asked directly if he was insulted.

 

Reporters also pointed out that Obama had said Bobby Rush had spanked Obama in the Congressional race when Obama ran against Rush in 2000. Obama said Tuesday night it was tongue-in-cheek and that everyone knows he wants to win the race for working people. He also said no one has run a more positive campaign than he.

 

Keyes, who has focused his campaign on abortion, said that his statement about whom Jesus would vote for was based on Obama's pro-choice votes in the Illinois Senate.

 

"Christ would not stand idly by while an infant child in that situation died," Keyes said. "And I'm not the only person, obviously, who thinks if you are a representative of me, I cannot vote for you if you would ignore the dignity and claims of that child's life. So, yes, I did respond quite logically -- you'll see it's quite logical, right -- with the conclusion that Christ would not vote for Barack Obama, because Barack Obama has voted to behave in a way that it is inconceivable for Christ to have behaved."

 

Keyes, who will be greatly outspent, relies on free media in his campaign against Obama, Kay reported. As a result, he frequently calls news conferences to respond to responses. First, he criticizes Obama. When Obama responds, Keyes calls a news conference to respond, which is what he did on Tuesday.

You'd think a guy with his fingers so firmly on the pulse of our Savior wouldn't lose this election by what looks like the biggest margin in the history of Senatorial races.

Well.. it could be close to the largest margin for a Democrat/Republican race. Although South Carolina gave us a 82%-18% whupping in 1956. Georgia gave us a 93%-7% race in 1932. It'll be the largest beating in Illinois history though.

 

As for Jesus and campaigns, I don't know how he'd vote, but I suspect his followers would stage a write-in campaign for him (which he wouldn't encourage). No word on if his campaign could beat the Pharisee candidate. Word is, he's weak on the Sabbath issue.

We need someone like good ole' Alan to break up the monotony of typical elections. He knows he's going to lose, badly, so he might as well just crazy it up as much as possible, which is good for our entertainment. As a Marylander, I'm proud that our state gave the nation Keyes, but relieved at the same time that it wasn't my district.

You didn't see him on Meet The Press. He was doing just fine until Russert quoted him on a line from a book where he says that the 9/11 hijackers were getting back at us for favoring Israel. Rather than simply call for a re-examination of policy, he went into this real anti-Semetic kick of his, and then Russert decided to be an ass and ask Bob Graham sitting right next to him if he agreed, and Graham rather absent-mindedly said something that was way too close to an agreement for my tastes.

 

Pat's rambling about how badly Israel treats Palestinians is a black eye to people who actually care about their quality of life, and not just hate on Jews like Pat did.

I've taken up the position of just smiling and nodding now when they say anything. Otherwise they will make my brain melt from the sheer stupidity of such statements.

 

As for Keyes, yeah he might be a little bit crazy. But at least he'll be fun to watch. I want the debates broadcast on C-SPAN now just so I can see and hear what good Alan has to say.

The Iron Circle Warrior's Code Of Chivalry

 

 

 

 

1. A warrior is bound by chivalry, a high code of HONOR that has it’s pagan roots deeply entrenched in it’s origins. If you expect to follow the "Old Ways" then you are obligated to adhere to them.

 

2. What you create in this world will no doubt strongly effect other worlds, on other planes, which in turn will return to you. Therefore, a warrior should be of a great consciousness of mind, displaying strict discipline, whenever creating anything on this plane. What you sew, so shall you harvest. Think before acting on any thought, act or deed. Remember, we too are bound by the "Three Fold Law".

 

3. We must think as if we parallel the thoughts of the Gods, for when we do so, it is only then that we can become part of the "Godhead".

 

4. Above all… "to thine self be true".

 

5. A warriors word should be given as if it were a written and witnessed contract. Take no oath lightly, and when you give your word, stand by it as if it were etched in stone. A warrior is only as good as his word.

 

6. Be painstaking in holding your tongue when speaking of the deeds of others. Especially thy enemy. Speaking poorly of anyone reflects upon the honor of the speaker. Refrain from passing untruths about another. Often gossip and bearing false witness is more damaging to the purveyor than the one being spoken about.

9. A warrior always thinks before he acts. Think through the consequences of your actions before putting them into motion. Thought is much easier to rescind than physical deed. Strive to do harm to none.

 

10. A warrior is, foremost, a man of peace, that can be incited to violence.

 

11. The warrior is often seen as a man with diverse views on the world and it’s emotional values. So a warrior, when visiting other factions of the community, should respect the practices of those that he seeks hospitality from. Giving respect to his hosts, no matter how varying their practices may be from his. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

 

12. A warrior shall always be of good humor, with dignity and a manner displaying grace.

 

13. A warrior is more powerful than most common men. With the acquisition of wisdom the warrior becomes even more of a formidable advisary. Therefore it is the wise warrior that exercises discretion in the use of his "Divine" gifts.

 

14. A warrior does not see himself as "Powerful", but instead sees himself as "Empowered". For it is an act of the Gods that has instilled the warrior with his strength, not the machinations of his own.

 

15. A warrior is the personification of Courage and Honor. These virtues will endure forever. Their echoes will remain long after the seas have gone dry and the mountains have crumbled under their own weight.

 

16. A warrior pledges his friendship and loyalty to those who have earned it. Warriors freely give their strength to their brothers who are not as strong, and in return become stronger themselves. To keep it, you must give it away.

 

17. A warrior never reveals the secret work of his clan. Nor shall he reveal the secret work that has been entrusted to him by all others, from other majickal factions. Integrity is one of the most valuable virtues of the warrior.

 

18. A warrior recognizes the difference between the understanding of "First Borns" and themselves. To these "First Borns" nothing will be said or shown, for they would not understand and would display great resistance to the warrior’s beliefs and moral position.

 

19. A warrior should, at all times, be above reproach of the eyes of the world. Warriors are judged by a much different code of ethics than those of the common man. "For he that is given much, much shall be expected."

 

20. A warrior should expect nothing, but prepare for everything.

 

21. A warrior should follow the "Law of the Land" whenever within reason. These laws were written with much thought and wisdom even though many of the mundane world don’t adhere to them. Remember that you are a warrior and take direction and have to answer to a higher authority than most. All they have is the "Law of the Land." Show them that we of a higher stature, can also obey them. Set an example.

 

22. A warrior takes pride in himself. Seeking "spiritual" progress rather than perfection. Seek progress daily, in body, mind and spirit. Ask yourself this question regularly… "How can you honor someone else unless you honor yourself first?"

 

23. A warrior must always remember that he is very special. He has been chosen by the Gods to do their work. Never pass up the opportunity to do the work of the "Divine". We were the first to join the fray, and we will be the last to bury "The Old Ways."

 

24. A warrior must always remember that because he is special, he should not display an aloof or "self-centered" attitude. A warrior can not be of service to a public that resents his egocentric view of himself. Displaying humbleness is also a very valuable virtue to the true warrior.
