ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Well, Smackdown has started, and it seems interesting. Torrie as ring announcer works. At least she's not wrestling. Cena vs. T 4. Even if Booker loses the Best of 5 series, he won't be the longest reigning US Champion in history.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 Hmm, is it wrong for me to want to see a Rock/Cena feud?
ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 Um, Stevie...Spoilers. If anyone else comes in this thread, they might not have read the spoilers.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 They wasted no time in taking Knoble out of the opening video. Book/Cena was decent. I'm in the minority, but I've been digging their matches. I liked the reversals/avoidance of their signature spots here (Book ducking the flying shoulder, Cena ducking the back-kick).
AndrewTS Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Um, Stevie...Spoilers. If anyone else comes in this thread, they might not have read the spoilers. Exactly. Most of the people who read the spoilers probably won't be watching the show. What, no contract to face KAAAAAAAAAAHNE?
LaParkaYourCar Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Hogan and Austin on next week's Smackdown?
AndrewTS Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Stephanie is going to be on the special...and she's a "legend." ...
ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 Stephanie is going to be on the special...and she's a "legend." ... Well, she's got a legendary screech, does that count?
Der Kommissar Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Considering there is like 5 posts and only 5 people reading this thread, I don't think you'd have to worry too much about spoilers. It doesn't seem like anyone would see it anyway.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Had to come here and make sure I wasn't the only one who saw that commercial...
AndrewTS Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 "Ladies and gentlemen...Billy Kidman." *crowd yawns*
ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 ...that's it, I'm calling London from now on Paul "The Dragon" London. Since everyone has said he looks like a younger version of Ricky Steamboat.
LucharesuFan619 Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 What was the commercial? Austin and Hogan? WTF? Someone explain.
LaParkaYourCar Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Isn't saying you're afraid of hurting someone while wrestling breaking kayfabe?
Guest Astro Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Hogan, Austin.....hmmmmmmmmmmmm
AndrewTS Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Talk of the SSP wakes the crowd up.
LaParkaYourCar Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Hmm...London can actually cut promos. I wonder what took them so long to let him?
AndrewTS Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 What was the commercial? Austin and Hogan? WTF? Someone explain. Smackdown V Anniversary Special
ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 They better let Paul "The Dragon" London do a SSP soon in a match.
Guest Real F'n Show Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I'm loving the London/Kidman stuff. Mick Foley was also mentioned in that commercial...
ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 I remember TLC 3. Good times, good times... ...and how did they get to get these people to agree?
Steviekick Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 They better let Paul "The Dragon" London do a SSP soon in a match. What's up with that nickname?
Steviekick Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I remember TLC 3. Good times, good times... ...and how did they get to get these people to agree? TLC 3 is deserving of the DVD treatment.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 They better let Paul "The Dragon" London do a SSP soon in a match. What's up with that nickname? I posted this earlier in the thread...but I'll explain again. A lot of people have said that London looks like either the kid brother or younger version of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Hence, I decided to call him Paul "The Dragon" London

Although Paul would look really freaky if he was emulating Ricky during his Moustache = Coolness phase during the late 70s.
LucharesuFan619 Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 What was the commercial? Austin and Hogan? WTF? Someone explain. Smackdown V Anniversary Special So they're saying they're gonna bring those two in for the show? Am I getting that right?
ChrisMWaters Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 ...Bubba stole one of Tazz' old ring shirts!
Guest fanofcoils Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I don't think Austin and Hogan are big enough names for the show.
