kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Oddly enough, I just got a letter from the better half which kinda fits in this thread. This person is the cousin of one of her bridesmaids, so this is real. I'm not pulling a "Rather..." Hey everything here is fine. The attack was coordinated and a whole shit load of Iraqis died that day. I was in an OP [observation point] about 1000m away from all the fighting. It really sucked laying up on top of that building watching all that shit. That is the first time they have brought a coordinated attack to us. It was fucking insane, I cant even explain it in words. mortars and VBIEDS [vehicle borne improvised explosive devise] for 4 hours straight, just like something out of the movies. But thank god not one single US casualty. The iraqis just dont get who the hell they are fighting. I cant believe they continue on with shit like this. Never met anyone who doesnt want to be free. Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 To put a story with my friend. Tyler Brown was a 1st Lt in the 2nd Infantry Division. While at Georgia Tech, he was in Kappa Alpha Fraternity, served as their president and was elected as Georgia Tech's student body president in an election known as "PizzaGate" because his rivals lured votes with free pizza. I had stopped by the office afterwards and inquired about a vacant seat, a lunch later I had been nominated for it. T was a guy who basically said what he felt, and because of that I learned alot from him. After that year, he had a ton of offers, but choose to continue on with his ROTC commitments and served. He continued to serve after his commitments were served. He was the kind of guy who'd toast the American flag with a Budweiser and sing the national anthem at a baseball game. I can't say how I feel, but I know T wouldn't have been over there if he didn't believe it in it. Hearing about the war takes a different meaning when you know someone who died in it. I just hope his death isn't in vain (along with the other 1000). s

haVoc 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Sorry to hear that, man. My cousin is over there as well. He just sent me a email yesterday saying "They still aren't saying when we are leaving here. It could be tommorrow and it wouldn't be soon enough for me." He's married with two kids and his father is on his death bed and he's only been able to come home once. Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted September 17, 2004 I'm so sorry to hear that. Three of my friends are joining the military, and I know for sure that one of them will end up in Iraq. I'm horrified at the thought of him dying out there. Any of them, actually.
