IWA Mid-South New Albany Results

Recommended Posts

Results taken from the IWA Mid-South Message Board. Surprised to see the 'Blackest Man in the IWA' Rollin' Hard back, since he doesn't exactly fit in with IWA's new wrestling-orientated direction, to say the least. Very much looking forward to seeing Danielson/Styles and GenNext v Hero/Nigel especially, there's been plenty of great looking matches already on the Evansville & New Albany shows and the two big shows of the quadruple shot are still yet to come.

IWA Mid-South Wrestling, in association with NWA Midwest, returned to the National Guard Armory in New Albany, Indiana on Thursday night, September 16th. Here's what went down...

1. MICKIE KNUCKLES def. TRACY BROOKS in a Women's Title Contenders Match following a shining kick to the face. As a result, Mickie will receive the title shot at the IWA 8th Anniversary show on 10/23 in Highland.

2. "Metalhead" STEVE STONE (w/ Jim Fannin) def. DANNY DANIELS with a roll up while holding the ropes for leverage.

3. CM PUNK def. "Double C" CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI after hitting the Pepsi Plunge top rope pedigree.

4. CORPORAL ROBINSON def. ROLLIN HARD (w/ Jim Fannin) in a No Countout, No Disqualification traditional IWA-MS rules bout, following the Boot Camp.

5. MATT SYDAL wrestled "Spyder" NATE WEBB to a no-contest in their match for Sydal's NWA Midwest X Division Title. After roughly seven minutes of action, "The Wildcards" EDDIE KINGSTON & BLACK JACK MARCIANO made their way to ringside, causing several disruptions during the match. Referee BRYCE REMSBURG ordered them back to the locker room, but a brawl broke out between the Wildcards and Webb & Sydal, which resulted in an impromptu tag team matchup.

6. "The Wildcards" EDDIE KINGSTON & BLACK JACK MARCIANO def. MATT SYDAL & "Spyder" NATE WEBB when Marciano pinned Sydal with a handful of tights. After the match, Sydal challenged the Wildcards to a rematch at the return New Albany event.

7. JC BAILEY def. CASH FLO (w/ Jim Fannin) following the Bardstown Bam top rope legdrop.

8. "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON def. IAN ROTTEN following the Glimmering Warlock. After the match, JIM FANNIN and his men, along with Cannon's new ally BRYAN DANIELSON, attacked Rotten, who suffered an injured shoulder during the bout.

9. ALEX SHELLEY & RODERICK STRONG def. CHRIS HERO & NIGEL McGUINNESS after Nigel turned on Hero, leading to the pinfall. Late in the bout, while McGuinness was attempting to make a tag to Hero, Shelley ran on the floor to Hero's side of the ring, and pulled Hero off the apron, and out of McGuinness's reach for a tag. Nigel blamed Hero for not being there when he needed him. After the match, Shelley, Strong, and McGuinness were joined by ARIK CANNON in delivering a post-match beating to Hero, before the locker room emptied to run them off.

10. "American Dragon" BRYAN DANIELSON def. "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES with a quick cradle after Styles was able to successfully maneuver himself out of Danielson's Cattle Mutilation.

11. PETEY WILLIAMS def. "The New Age Punisher" B-BOY to retain the IWA World Heavyweight Championship, following the Canadian Destroyer front flip piledriver.

I guess that'll supress the 'Hero to turn heel' rumours given the heel grouping of Dragon, Cannon, Shelley and McGuiness

Seeing as they all have aproblem with him and especially based on the upcoming Dragon/Hero 60 min match it would be a real bad idea to turn him heel

This doesn't seem like the weaker event, it actually seems like a good link between the two shows going into TPI. I'm liking the new heel grouping, but turning Nigel heel when he's going to be pretty over in Highland is pretty odd.

Shelley, Strong, Cannon, Dragon and Nigel...all against Hero.

As far as wrestling goes, its the weaker of the two [Wednesday's and last night's], I'll take Danielson/Hero 2/3 falls over Danielson/Styles, with Styles tendency to suck... and all.
