Guest BDC Report post Posted September 29, 2004 And if you can't see the possiblility of a draft, under the circumstances that I mentioned then, well, you truly are blinkered. The US military is already overstretched as it is - if another campaign was launched then there is a possibility of a draft. Ahem. You do a damn fine job ignoring what's been said very clearly: NO ONE is going to touch the draft. Not only will it be political suicide, but the person in question will get run right out of the country. The fact that you still cling to this doesn't surprise me. Ever heard of the Pentagon's Two War Doctrine?

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 MTV has decided to use the draft as a tool in their voting campaign. If you haven't seen the commercial, basically a bunch of high school grads are at a party and this female says, "what about the draft?" or some craziness and they all just stare at the camera like it's up to us to stop it. It's like the most obvious "BUSH IS EVIL! STOP HIM!" ad in the history of man cause no one EVER believes the democrats would call on the draft. Neither side will use the draft unless the military is crippled beyond belief which it's not even close to being.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Just because you disagree with me it does not give you the right to insult me. We like YOU better when YOU don't say anything, how's that? I'd imagine you would. Unlike you, it doesn't begin to bug me. And if you can't see the possiblility of a draft, under the circumstances that I mentioned then, well, you truly are blinkered. If you wish to be blinded to political reality, that is another of your litany o' problems. The US military is already overstretched as it is - if another campaign was launched then there is a possibility of a draft. Well, if the Dems win the Congress, then yes, you should be worried. It still baffles me that Bush is getting blamed by some for this --- when the ONLY people calling for it have been Democrats. -=Mike

Styles 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Oh jesus, the draft talk is the biggest scare tactic I've ever heard. I've been helping volunteer for some local Republican campaigns through school and as I was leaving a meeting with a couple of people, these middle aged Kerry-Edwards supporters (you could tell because they had shirts and signs and everything) noticed us and started rabidly screaming at us about how we're all going to Iraq to die and we're coming home in bodybags. "Nice scare tactics. Way to support the troops." was our calm response. That just seemed to make them madder as they started screaming something about universal healthcare as we entered our car. It was funny shit though to watch these adults act like such immmature babies throwing a tantrum though. I've posted it before but its been updated. Please read this article, lengthy but very informative about the "possibility" of a draft returning: http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm As for disputing F9/11. www.bowlingfortruth.com the same site that broke down all the inaccuricies in Bowling for Columnbine has started to do the same for F9/11. The best part is you can download the first 14 minutes of the movie with fact corrections superimposed over the screen. Highly reccomend this one, and would love to see it for the whole movie (which beyond this Ive never seen).
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 I'm sure he was harping on Bush about the lack of funding, yet they could use that money to help the school instead of Mikey and supporting him, and also pay for all the food he ate, probably ran out of the school inventory of food. Doesn't Fahrenhype 9/11 (out the same day as Moore's opus) also do the same? -=Mike
