EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2004 http://channels.netscape.com/ns/celebrity/...hol20040909.htm Ludacris Trying to Clean Up His Rep Gangsta rapper Ludacris – who was dropped by Pepsi after Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly campaigned against using a spokesperson whose lyrics are blatantly violent and misogynistic -- now seems determined to change his reputation. Just last month he accompanied a young lady confined to a wheelchair with cerebral palsy to her prom as part of BET’s “Access Granted” series. And now Ludacris’ is using his new commercial deal with Boost Mobile – his first major endorsement deal since O’Reilly got him fired by Pepsi -- to give back to his community. "Now, people can finally associate my name -- and Hip-Hop -- with something positive," says Ludacris, who recently took time out from Memphis shooting of John Singleton’s “Hustle and Flow” to return home to Atlanta where he shot the new commercial with two other hot musical artists, Kanye West and The GAME(cq). Starting this month, Boost Mobile will offer exclusive ringtones by Kanye West, Ludacris and The GAME, which Boost customers can download from Boost LIVE. All proceeds from the sale of the downloaded ringtones will be donated to charities selected by each artist, including the rapper’s charity organization, The Ludacris Foundation, the United Negro College fund, and the Chicago State University Foundation. Now if he could just do something about those “hos in other area codes,” he sings about.
Guest Banders Kennany Report post Posted September 30, 2004 Good to see Ludacris trying to clean up his rep. I thought O'Reilly was tough but unfair in his critcism but some of it was justified and now Luda though he sucks, is trying to give back.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 I think "image" would be more accurate than "rep." Can't wait to hear Bill congratulate himself on setting Lud. straight...
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 Uh, I don't think there's much cleaning here except that he's got a new endorsement deal. No problem with that either - he already gives piles of money to charities and releases ridiculous singles. That "rep" is fine with me.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 Is it possible for a Canadian to have street cred? Kinda. Ours is a cleaner, nicer version then what you Yanks are used to.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 1, 2004 Clean up his REP? WTF? Am I the only one not seeing this. What fucking REP. He isn't fucking John Gotti......Jesus Christ this is fucking stupid...... Ludacris has always been tame, so I also see the absurdity of cleaning up his rep. Bill O'reilly being out of touch and talking out of his ass...imagine that. Didn't something like this happen during the "devil speaks on records when played backwards" craze, where some tame non-metal band got accused of it.
