BUTT Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Well, the debate starts in about a half hour, and since someone was going to start a thread, I figured it might as well be me. Lets's hope we see a better debate than the "Fuzzy Math!" "Lock Box!" classic of 2000.
GreatWhiteNope Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Kerry - shut the fuck up and answer the question
Downhome Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I HAVE A PLAN. I HAVE A PLAN. I HAVE A PLAN. I HAVE A PLAN.
Guest MikeSC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Bush beautifully avoided the trap of that "Would the election of Kerry make us less safe" question. -=Mike
JoeDirt Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I'm going to try and analyze this debate objectively as if I was an undecided voter who isn't clear on all the issues. I think it's going to be interesting.
JoeDirt Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 # of times Kerry has mentioned service = 1 Pretty good start so far, though.
Guest BDC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 They've already started throwing pretty snide jabs. I'm waiting for President to state that Bin Laden has pretty much been neutered of effectiveness and that Al Qaeda has been crippled.
GreatWhiteNope Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Oh shit - Bush makes Kerry eat his own words.
Guest MikeSC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Both guys are doing solidly early on. -=Mike
Guest BDC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Mr. President, please don't focus TOO much on Iraq.
JoeDirt Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Oh shit - Bush makes Kerry eat his own words. I think that's going to be the Republican strategy all night. Has Kerry ever really said that the world WASN'T safter without Hussein?
GreatWhiteNope Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I'm waiting for President to state that Bin Laden has pretty much been neutered of effectiveness and that Al Qaeda has been crippled. There it is.
JoeDirt Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Hussein...I mean Bin Laden...hell, what's the difference anyways? On a side note, I was talking to my girlfriend about the 2000 debates the other day and she said the reason she didn't want to support Gore in 2000 was he wore so much blush and talked like a woman she didn't think he'd be a good leader. Lol. Hopefully Kerry at least doesn't come off like a sissy tonight...
Guest MikeSC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Wow, that was a whopper from Kerry. Bush took troops from Tommy Franks? Franks has said that it is not even close to the case. This answer is REAL bad for Kerry. -=Mike
Guest BDC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Okay, my gf's brother can call bull on the Humvee thing. People are getting hurt in Humvees because they can't... DID HE JUST SAY WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TROOPS THERE?
Guest TheLastBoyscout Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Bush is unable to speak in coherent sentances.
JoeDirt Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 They're talking about the same issue while avoiding each others criticisms and not even really addressing them...
Guest MikeSC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Bush is unable to speak in coherent sentances. You're watching the debate, right? I haven't seen that. -=Mike
Guest GreatOne Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 How many times has Kerry repeated what Bush just said? And the complaint is that we take troops from Afghanistan and put them in Iraq, and now we don't have enough. Oh yeah and sneak in some tax cut whine while you're at it, Kerry.
Guest TheLastBoyscout Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Wow, that was a whopper from Kerry. Bush took troops from Tommy Franks? Franks has said that it is not even close to the case. This answer is REAL bad for Kerry. -=Mike Our President mixed up Osama and Saddam. ... That makes my head spin.
teke184 Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I know I'm biased, but Kerry is looking like shit. They should have had more of the one-minute extensions on some of these questions.
JoeDirt Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Bush is unable to speak in coherent sentances. You're watching the debate, right? I haven't seen that. -=Mike Bush has been just fine so far.
Guest TheLastBoyscout Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Bush is unable to speak in coherent sentances. You're watching the debate, right? I haven't seen that. -=Mike He's stuttering and stammering A LOT. And Kerry's blasting Bush on his domestic problems.
Guest MikeSC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Listing the problems isn't quite the same thing as listing solutions, Senator. -=Mike
JoeDirt Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I know I'm biased, but Kerry is looking like shit. They should have had more of the one-minute extensions on some of these questions. I don't think he's looking like shit, that's a little harsh. And at least he isn't sighing at all of Bush's responses.
Guest BDC Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 The President taking his time on his answers is a pretty clever tactic, something Clinton tried to warn Gore about.
Guest TheLastBoyscout Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Bush is shifting in his seat, as he Kerry blasts his domestic cuts. This is GREAT.
Guest TheLastBoyscout Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 "Um... anyway... that's a different debate."
