iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Jesus. Sox are getting some solid hits, but at the wrong places in the Angels infield.
Slayer Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 My problems is that, while I wouldn't say I'm "afraid" to face NY in the ALCS again, I (as most Sox fans, I imagine) couldn't bear a third ALCS loss to NY in 5 years
Guest Coffey Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 0-2. Manny not looking like an MVP candidate thus far tonight. I think his 3-run BOMB in the first game will cut him some slack though. I can't believe this game is in the fifth already.
Guest Coffey Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 This thread definitely doesn't have the support that the Yankees thread has.
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 I see your point, definately. And you know, if they do lose to the Yankees in the ALCS again? It will fucking blow. At this point, WHOEVER they lose to in the playoffs will fucking blow. But it's worth wanting the Yankees just because they could always win, and that's how we all want it. And be honest...other than Red Sox and Twins fans, who gives a flying crap about Twins/Sox in the ALCS? Yankees vs. Red Sox is the best rivalary in sports. Easy.
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 This thread definitely doesn't have the support that the Yankees thread has. West coast game...weekday night...it's only Game 2. People that wanted to watch baseball got their fix with the Yankees game. This game, while important, isn't really critical to most average baseball fans.
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Yeek. Pedro's got to calm the fuck down.
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Ahh...start thinking about bullpen, Terry. Don't let this get too crazy.
KingPK Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 And Pedro is demonstrating why he didn't start Game 1.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Is Pedro choking again? With Vlady up?
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Pedro's at 75 pitches...he's starting to reach his point. I don't see him lasting longer than the 6th inning. Terry needs to fucking get someone up right now.
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 MILLAR IS GOD. Pedro fucking LUCKED out there. BIG TIME.
KingPK Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Whoo, Millar better check if that line drive didn't break some fingers. That thing was smoked. Pedro's got one inning left, methinks.
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Since Millar got them out of that one, I'd say let Pedro start the 6th...but have someone ready to take over if Pedro's still showing signs of weakness.
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Great hustle by Ortiz. Trot's up...as Tony said on commentary, I think Nixon is bound to have a strong postseason. He's due.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 7, 2004 Author Report Posted October 7, 2004 I think Erstad just won the gold glove.

People that wanted to watch baseball got their fix with the Yankees game. This game, while important, isn't really critical to most average baseball fans. It's critical to me! I'm a baseball fan and Pedro & Colon are pitching. Not only that, but Manny is an MVP candidate, so I want to see how he continues his great season in the play-offs. Same with Vlad on the Angels. Plus, it's called by Berman, and he's money. On top of that, it's a lot easier to watch the post season when all the stress and pressure is off of you as a viewer. Seeing as how the Cubbies didn't make the play-offs, I'm just watching competitive baseball now. I'm not rooting for anyone. It's more enjoyable, but I can't say I'm happy about the Cubs season. That's another rant though.

VARITEK MUST RESIGN!
Guest Coffey Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Well, with that shot, Pedro isn't going anywhere.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 :::the ball already lands in the crowd::: Berman: "Back, back, back....GONE!" Shut the fuck up.
Guest Coffey Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 I don't know if I've ever posted this much on TSM in one day. These baseball playoff threads are great. I wish I knew about them for the first games.
Guest Coffey Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 :::the ball already lands in the crowd::: Berman: "Back, back, back....GONE!" Shut the fuck up. You don't like Berman? BLASPHEMY!

KingPK Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 I'd have Pedro on a short leash right now. Get the bullpen cooking, and yank him the moment trouble arises. I don't give a fuck if it hurts his feelings, get over it. And by the looks of things, since (almost) all of the game 1s were blowouts, all the Game 2s will be good, close games.
Guest Coffey Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Why the Berman hate? I think his enthusiasm adds a lot to the game. He's not like Jim Ross. Damn. I promise to go to dictionary.com and learn how to spell enthusiasm now too. EDIT: enthusiasm
iliketurtles Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Whoa, Berman is talking about me. LOL
