Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2004 For those of you who didn't know, nba.com quit hosting the VGM (Virtual General Manager) game, however ESPN has taken it on and has renamed it Fastbreak. It's the exact same game, except it's now hosted by espn.com and the new name. I've created a public league, so if you are interested, you'd better sign up since I think there are only 50 spots to a group. Here is the link... http://games.espn.go.com/fastbreak/frontpage The group I created is called The TSMWDI Playas. Again, it's a public group, so no password is required. For those of you who haven't played, but are interested in how the game works, check the link which has the rules. BTW, this is a daily game, so this is for the hardcore fantasy basketball playas. On a personal note, my goal is to win the group and make that damn leaderboard. (leaderboard is the top 50 players around the world, regardless of group) Good luck for those of you who are gonna play.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 I see 3 other people so far. We should get a good turnout here pretty soon. I even have a tentative lineup for opening night... PG Mike Bibby SG Kobe Bryant SF Carmelo Anthony PF Kenyon Martin C Brad Miller Coach Larry Brown That lineup cost 99.0 out of 100.00 Pretty good if you ask me. Another thing is the player values are pretty low IMO. Take a look.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 I'm in once again. Without much thought my lineup's pretty much the same, except with Dirk at PF and Denver as coach to total 100 exactly.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 I just set mine PG: Andre Miller SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Carmelo Anthony PF: Dirk Nowitzki C: Marcus Camby Coach: Jeff Bzdelik 99 points
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 I gotta bump this again in hopes that other people will join up. So far, we've got a grand total of 5 It is a public league and it's only been available for 4 days now, so maybe I just need to be patient. Still, can't wait for the season. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2004 Just to add... I have signed up for nba.com's Rookie's fantasy game. It's just like VGM/Fastbreak, but it's easier because you only pick one rookie a day to play and you can pick up to a week in advance. Thing is, you can only pick the same rookie once a week. Here is the link.. http://www.nba.com/fantasy_games/rookies2004/login.jsp The group is the same name as the VGM/Fastbreak game:TSMWDI playas. I played this game last year and it was pretty fun. It should really be challenging this year because there is no clear cut studs like LeBron, Carmelo, and Wade. However I think this year's rookie class will have some folks step up and be productive. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2004 Since Carmelo decided to get cited with hippie lettuce aka marijuana, I'm banking on at least a 2 game suspension to open his season. That means he's out of my first Fastbreak lineup. Here is the new lineup (thank God this info came out early) PG Mike Bibby SG Kobe Bryant SF Peja Stojakovic PF Rasheed Wallace C Brad Miller Coach Denver It's a little King's heavy, but they are playing the defensive genius's known as the Mavs, so I'm not too worried. Sucks because I had my team down pat to a cost of 99.0, but this lineup is even closer at 99.5 BTW, is anybody gonna sign up for the Rookie's game? If not, I'm fixing to dismantle the group and join up somewhere else.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2004 New Carmelo-less lineup, coming in at a full 100: PG- Mike Bibby SG- Kobe Bryant SF- Lamar Odom PF- Dirk Nowitzki C- Brad Miller Coach- Washington Wizards The Wizards of course aren't playing, but i'd rather sacrifice 5 points from the coach position instead of downgrading elsewhere. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 Well, I forgot to change my roster for today, but here's my Nov. 4: PG: Andre Miller SG: Gerald Wallace SF: Carmelo Anthony PF: Kevin Garnett C: Shaquille O'Neal Coach: Washington 113 points yesterday.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 I can't remember what i put for today, i think it went Francis, Kobe, Artest, Garnett, Ratliff & LA Clippers at coach. And it sucks that they've put KG at the power forward position this year, since i now can't go with Garnett and Elton Brand in the same lineup anymore, denying me their combined ass-stomping goodness that gave me so many huge totals last season. Although moving Garnett frees me up to use Kirilenko more, which is good.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 I'm joining up now. Nov. 4th Lineup PG: Jeff McInnis SG: Larry Hughes SF: Latrell Sprewell PF: Kevin Garnett C: Marcus Camby Coach: Miami Heat
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 Looks like i didn't put in my lineup for November 3rd in time, since it's left me with the same lineup i had day one. Figures i'd screw up on the day i choose both KG and Ilgauskas who just happened to be the two top scoring players of the day and would have given me 175 total. Intead i have to settle for a comparatively poor 106. Lineup for the 4th: PG- Dwayne Wade SG- LeBron James SF- Jarvis Hayes PF- Kevin Garnett C- Shaquille O'Neal Coach- Miami Heat and for the 5th: PG- Steve Francis SG- Paul Pierce SF- Richard Jefferson PF- Tim Duncan C- Theo Ratliff Coach- Pistons

Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 129 last night, if it wasn't for me putting my lineup in late two days ago and costing myself 74 points i'd be sitting outright 8th on the overall leaderboard right now. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 87 points last night, damn the -1 that Tinsley gave me. November 7th lineup PG: Rafer Alston SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Rashard Lewis PF: Tim Duncan C: Radoslav Nesterovic Coach: Lakers
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Not picking Shaq again, thaty's for sure. Jefferson and Duncan saved what was looking like a bad day yesterday to give me 115, and Michael Redd and KG make up for the dead weight that is Marbury and Shaq today to keep my run of over 100 points every day going. 7th: PG- Damon Stoudamire SG- Kobe Bryant SF- Lamar Odom PF- Tim Duncan C- Radoslav Nesterovic Coach- L.A. Lakers

HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 I had 111 points last night thanks to Pierce, Bobby F'n Simmons and Amare Stoudemire bailing my team out. Steve Francis had 3 and can go fuck off forever now. Okafur had a decent 15 but wasn't as good as I was expecting. November 7th lineup PG: Rafer Alston SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Rashard Lewis PF: Tim Duncan C: Radoslav Nesterovic Coach: Lakers November 8th Lineup PG: Jason Terry SG: Richard Hamilton SF: Andrei Kirilenko PF: Dirk Nowitzki C: Ben Wallace Coach: Denver
