Guest Loss Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 well I think his character portrays his african american side, but he is very proud of his samoan side too so I can't fault him for recognizing it...remember he was a member of NOD for awhile, a spin on the Black Panters/Nation Of Islam...I would be curious to see the title on Benjamin or Jordan as neither one of them is portrayed as a thug or a rapper or a dancer or a basketball player or a birdman or anything else stupid...it's similar to the japanese guys, they're almost always portrayed as sneaky and evil or clumsy and stupid...i mean, Tajiri speaks SOME english doesn't he? I'm sure Kenzo does to, but damned if I know it or not... Problem with that is that they get an audience like that because of the product they put out. It's a total self-fulfilling prophecy. A smarter, slightly more sophisticated product would attract a smarter, slightly more sophisticated fanbase, most likely with more dispensable income to boot. The Rock being black isn't a matter of personal opinion by the way. That's gotta be the most ludicrous thing I've seen ... well ... ever on a message board. i personally dont consider the rock to be a black wwf champion ????????

Well you certainly were when you said that. Anyway, I might be getting confused here, but Rock is of Samoan descent... so why would that make him African-American? Does his family include a lot of African lineage?

I know he is half Japanese, but is he also Samoan, as well? I heard a rumor he might also have Native American ancestry. I know his real last name is Blood. Sounds somewhat Native American to me, not sure though.

His match with UT was passable I guess, but that was all Taker IMO. I have yet to see any display of charisma from the man, and I his moveset is just so very very bleh. He's like a black Garrison Cade (alright he's not that bad... but still.) I don't want him anywhere near any titles - he should be getting squashed by Akio on a weekly basis. Benjamin, on the other hand - big push for that man please. And a decent finisher too.

Mr. Benjamin should use that t-bone suplex but do it Dr. Death style and run his opponets into the corners 1st. The set up would be the Splash in the corner then put the opponet in the t-bone the run into the opposite corner then do the running powerslam!
clean rob Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I'd rather see him do a wrist clutch varation. But your idea is pretty nifty also. Either way, he seriously needs a named finisher now that the Dragon Whip has been toned down and reduced to a signature spot.
