The Sox. Hands down.

The Pistons just raped the Lakers in five games. The focus was still on Kobe/Shaq/Phil.

The Sox beating The Yankees was a epic war with the most amazing comeback fathomable. Longer history and the whole Curse Vs Aura element as well.

It truly is tough either way, but being a bigger basketball fan I felt more excitement seeing the Lakers beaten convincingly in 5 games, especially since they totally overlooked them. They were arrogant and cocky after off the charts and got what was coming to them. But thats just me.

That's a tough call to make. I guess I'd say the Lakers losing because if they had one we would have NEVER heard the end of it how they overcame adversity blah blah blah shaq fighting kobe blah blah blah rapist shithead blah blah blah. Although the glee brought on by Boston not only beating New York, but doing it by coming back from down 0-3 is pretty close.

The image of A-Rod crying and all the ignorant Yankee fans with their faces in the hands makes that series the winner for me. That and my largely indifferent attitude towards the NBA.

The Pistons, mainly because I want the Cubs to win the series before the Sox do. Either of 'em. I'm not a footwear fan.

I am a Pistons fan, so I chose that one.

I'm happy for the Sox, especially Johnny Damon.

I didn't know the Yankees brought out Bucky Dent to through the first pitch. Karma was so out to get them last night.

And now rumors of going after Nomar for second base? Thats fucking silly, that would almost draw me to the side of the Red Sox if they did that. They'll waste even more money on high priced talent that isn't worth it. Its kinda frutrating. This series proved the Yanks are out of touch with their own basic needs.

The Flyers won the Stanley Cup?

Oops ... I originally was going to say the Flyers losing in the Cup playoffs, but it sounded too negative.

Looks like I was too quick to post and too slow to proofread.

This is a tough one.

Having been a Sox fan since FS got me into Boston sports back around '99 and putting up with the Yankees' two ALCS wins at the Sox expense (I don't even want to imagine if I had been a fan my whole life, hell this was just five years worth of Sox fandom and disappointment)... these last four days have been too much for words

But, on the other hand, I hated the seemingly unavoidable Laker hype last year with the Payton-Malone acquisition and Kobe's "fortitude" in dealing with the rape trial. After not really watching a single playoff game before that, I devotedly watched every game of the NBA finals until the Lakers were finished.

Lakers and Yankees both weren't the previous year title winner. But Red Sox beating the Yankees meant more than Pistons beating the Lakers.

Pistons.

Cause I hated both the Yankees and the Red Sox so it was a lose-lose. Now I have to watch my brothers fall apart when either the Cards or Clemens beats them in the World Series.

I actually WATCHED the Red Sox come back from 3 down to watch.

And I'm not a baseball fan, or at least, I wasn't till this season, but in any case, I watched the games full through and pissed if I missed what happened (as the chat room can attest to).

Therefore, I give the nod to the Sox vs. Yanks - Game 7

Tough. Yankees/Sox was so historically incredible, and to watch it happen to the Yanks of all teams. Oh, but watching the Lakers get whooped was sure worth it. That was a straight up beating. And watching the way the love triangle unfolded. And seeing old Jack courtside. Oh man, watching the Yanks drop two in the House.

people are so bitter

Yes. You are. :D

I certainly am. But I've never developed a deep hatred for a team simply because they are winners.

I hate(d) the Chicago Bulls for winning the NBA Title 6 out of 8 years...now they are among some of the shitiest teams in the NBA. Other than that, I've never hated a team, just players who are either assholes (95% of players mainly), and the rare abusive ones.

The Pistons winning I'll vote for, mainly because I hate Kobe Bryant & Shaq.

That makes sense in some fucked up logic, I suppose.

Pistons easily, because it signaled the END of an era in Lakerland. You knew going into that series that it was the Lakers' last chance to win a championship because Shaq was leaving, and they just got bitchsmacked around as well. The Red Sox might have beaten the Yankees THIS SEASON, but the Yankees will still be right there next year, and assuming their spending spree is half as much as any other year, they will be the odds on favorite to win it all in 2005 again. Plus add my personal bias since I am in no way shape or form a Red Sox fan, so about five minutes after the conclusion of the ALCS, I kind of didn't care anymore and turned my focus to the NFL, and start of the NBA season.

Toss up. It was exciting to me to see Boston win after being down 0-3. The History of the rivalry also made it great. It was also great to see Yankee fans shitting themselves by halfway throught the 2nd inning. But Boston still has a series left to play.

But I hate most Laker fans so much because for the most part they're fair weather fans. They love em when theyre winning and shit on them when their losing. Also I'm a huge Blazers fan and can't stand them for eliminating us 3 or 4 times in a row.
