Wow, I just noticed that the chart posted earlier ends right before the recovery really took effect.

Boy, it's even MORE irrelevant than I thought.

I think the DC system is a bit flawed.

Give them the Louisiana "Open Primary" since DC is basically dominated by Democrats. It'll give them something to do in November.

So unless the DC delegate gets voting rights and another seat is created, I don't see how the Electoral College can have an odd number of votes.

I'm not talking about electing Senators from DC, or upgrading the Mayor to a "Governor" status. That might be a bit much.

I would alow Maryland to run the city, rather than allowing the city to run itself.

When a crack conviction can only BOOST your political career, they need to lose their voice.

Maryland doesn't WANT DC. Let them deal with their own problems...

Ok you want a reason to vote for Kerry.. uh, he's not Bush. No that is not it. He served in Vietnam, no that is not either. He flips-flops, oh wait that is a knock against him. I guess this means you should vote Nader ;) .

All kidding aside, I am voting for Kerry. Mainly because I will take a chance that he can bring more help into Iraq. I like that he has a plan for health care and I am bleeding heart liberal, sorta, and I am not bothered by the "Most Liberal" label he gets. I also just don't like how Bush does not seem to take any responsibility for anything that goes slightly wrong. Whether it is a smart thing or not, I would hate that if it was Clinton, or any other Democrat President. I also do not like that Bush environmental policies are not healthy for the planet, Kyoto agreement not with standing. Sorry, but Healthy Trees initiative does not mean you let the timber companies cut down all the healthy trees. :P I don't know, its just I agree with Kerry more on all the issues combined and I am not willing to base it on just National Security (which is important, by the way) and what appears to me to be scare tactics (of course both sides do this, but I have noticed more on the Republican side). Since I am a poor man, trying to get my teaching credential (so I can corrupt the youtes of America, of course :P) I really don't get as adament over taxes as much, maybe if I was rich I would change my tune, selling out rules :headbang:. And lastly, as much as I am for freedom of religion and I respect anyone who feels that Jesus/God has made their life that much better, I really feel religion has no business in government and I get irked when Bush claims God is speaking to him (I am also not thrilled that Kerry takes this route, but cest la vie).

So vote for the candidate you agree with more. Do your homework at non-partisan sites. Compare if you were better in 2000 or better now. If you like your politics on the conservative side, you will more than likely like Bush and nothing will really change your mind, baring a major decision changing event. If you tend to be more liberal, think Bush has done a subpar job, and everything else, you will more than likely vote Kerry.

All I can say is this is the second election in a row that we have had two less than stellar candidates, well maybe more, but I am referring to post-Clinton years. I honestly believe that Bush nor Kerry is not the best choices we can have and due to the lovely two-candidate system, it ends up being a case of choosing the lesser of two evils. And our best choices are not politicians or they refuse to run (Powell comes to mind). So regardless of who wins, neither Bush nor Kerry will not unify this country. Bush proved to be a non-unifier, who really pissed off a lot of people, justified or overreaction. Kerry, unfortunately will have the same success, unfortunately. So I believe Kerry will do a better job and so I am voting for him. Besides, with a Republican House and Senate, his liberal agenda will be kept in check. So that is all I have to say, please vote logically and if Bush wins, I hope that we don't get any more Floridas like 2000. And even better, no more political ads for whole 4 years.
