Regardless of whether this problem was widespread or not, WHY did so many people oppose a paper trail/receipt?

But, but, but --- Diebold wasn't even the machine used there. How can that be?

...Do you think a paper trail would stop conspiracy theories?

Vote early, vote often!

Probably not, but that's like saying Windows plugging up one security hole is pointless since people will still bitch about security holes.

I'm looking at the practicality of all of this.

Printers will break down. That is inevitable. That will lead to massive problems --- especially since it's hardly a guarantee that they can fix it. What happens if they break down late?

I have no problem with plain old paper ballots.

I thought we had a pretty good system here. You used a paper ballot. When you were done, it ran the ballot through a scanner, and then you get to rip off your receipts from the bottom of the ballot. Seems simple enough.

Heck, for a short while today, the election actually hit my prediction (52-47)

Does that qualify as a mandate?...

Nope. That requires a 51.97.

Or a blowjob from a chunky intern.

Whatever comes first.

I got every single state right.

Someone tell me how great I am

Did you pick Guam? I bet not!!

-=Mike

...He got 'em right, I guess. Hard to say anything bad...

Does Guam have any electoral votes?...

We do NOT shoot down really lame flaming with a request for obscure facts.

-=Mike

...Too lazy to check or come up with better material today...

I don't think territories can vote in the primaries or the election.

I know Puerto Rico can only vote in the primaries.
