therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Since I live about 25 minutes away from Atlantic City, I go there a few times a month to play Texas Hold 'Em. My favorite would have to be the Borgata, a new one that just opened up last year. It's extremely nice, classy, the cocktail waitresses are about 30 different kinds of hot, and there's also a "you have to be 18 or over" rule to actually go on the casino floor, which is nice because there's no kids running around like there is at the other casinos in AC. Mole 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 I've only been to two casinos; Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Mohegan Sun is much better than Foxwoods. Foxwoods was really crammed and really ugly. Her brother and his friends have high roller cards, so we got into the high roller buffet which had like lobster and steak on it, as well as some of the best ravioli I've ever had in my life. Oh yeah, and free drinks didn't hurt either. Topped it off with $100 win in Blackjack and left. I am very much looking forward to going back to that place. I worked there when it opened. And I turned down an offer from one of the cocktail waitresses to stay with her for a while. I kinda regret that. The Dames 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 I've been to three. Niagara Falls Casino and like Mole, I've been to Mohegan Sun & Foxwoods. I also preferred Mohegan Sun, but the BIG negative with that one is that there are no standard Poker Tables at Mohegan Sun. Therefore, you must to go to Foxwoods for any real Hold 'Em action. My favourite casino would have to be Bellagio. There's just an unbelievable feeling of comfort playing in that casino. Of course, for cocktail waitresses, nowhere I've been compares to the Orleans. nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 I've been to most of the 'big names' in Vegas, the oft-mentioned two in CT (Foxwoods & Mohegan), the Casino du Montreal, and a few sketchy ones in Detroit & right over the border in Ontario ... my big complaint with all of them except the ones in LV is that there isn't any competition around there, so they don't have to worry about keeping a certain level of service or risk losing you to other casinos. For example, if you go to a casino in Vegas and order a drink, it's there like right away. But if you order one in Foxwoods, it can sometimes take 10, 20 minutes ... way too long for a comped drink. But if you don't like it, there's no were else to go. Another example is the 'minimum' tables ... since Vegas has so much competition, you can normally find $15 or $25 tables, even on a Saturday night. But the casinos with no competition can immediately raise the minimum table without fear that you'll take your business next door. If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be the Luxor but purely because I've had the most success there. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
franchise632 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 Having worked at a "local" native american run casino in North Central Minnesota, I have to conquer with nl5xsk1 statements. With lack of immediate commpetition around the area, the nearest casino being atleast an hour drive. There were plenty of times when guests arent taken care of like they would in other places. Of course guests also think that being in a casino in Minn should be like a casino in Vegas. Which is just stupid. I was a blackjack dealer and really hated my job. The constant complaining of guest and the shitty level of tipping. At a native american casino you get at both ends if your white <I am> because your only going to get to certain level, so you get treated like the shit by the players and the management. When I get back to the states if I decided to get back into gaming it will be in Arizona or Vegas. Just a word of advice, if you want to have fun at you table, tip your dealer. It doesn't mean you to tip alot but even a dollar is appreciated especially if you are winning at all. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Nice atmosphere and a swank buffet that's extra cheap in the late night/early morning, a blessing for when I was an evening shift worker.
