Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted November 11, 2004 First of all, anything that would make me feel retarded for being a wrestling fan would be nixed. Any point that needs to made should be made in front of the live audience. Nothing makes a show more boring than a crowd that has died long before the main event due to realizing they payed their hard earned money to watch a bunch of badly acted segments on a giant monitor. I'd like to see some announcers who at least try to look like they give a damn about what they are saying. They need a new mean gene, not a new Todd Pettingill The wrestlers should write their own promos because there is nothing worse than a promo that seems blatantly scripted. They should mix up their matches more. It be nice to see a lot of guys who don't get exposure given a chance to shine with the main eventers or midcarders. It never hurts to give a guy you're pushing some impressive, hard fought wins. After the draft lottery, they should definitely keep win/loss records. There is a lot those could do with a w/l record system. It would make the show seems more authentic.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2004 I'd put world title matches on free TV again and try and change the title ownership once or (in desperate times) twice a year (once on both brands) on free TV to keep people interested. It's way too obvious at this point that titles only change hands on PPV, it's never more visible to the common fan than it is now that Raw & SD only exist to sell PPVs. Since people don't voluntarily choose to view informercials, we need to make these shows stand on their own two legs instead of always propping up a future event. No more stupid Hogan-era USA Babyface gimmicks and angles. If they wish to capitalize on international tours, constantly doing angles about how America is vastly superior to the Europeans, Australians, Japanese, and Middle-Easterners will not sell tickets in those parts of the world. At the same time, no more political stereotypes. Bradshaw was good enough as a Million Dollar Man wannabe, but then he got political with the Eddie feud and it turns off half the US. That Nowinski/Steiner "debate" angle of 2002 was another situation where the only thing they can accomplish is tell their anti-war fans that they aren't wanted. Ethnic stereotypes can stay as long as they are done well (i.e. Eddie) and not done to make a group look bad (i.e. Booker/Austin feud.) Women's belt is gone because there's too few competitors who can hold it and be over with the crowd without it simply exchanging around the same three hands over and over again. Women now take a managerial role with male wrestlers and sometimes get involved in their wrestler's feuds or with another wrestler's manager. Also, sometimes women appear in non-managerial roles but are no longer confined to their own little universe (i.e. the spunky female tag team that uses better teamwork to beat guy tag teams, etc) Velocity becomes an all-cruiserweight show.
