As reported over the weekend, Carlito Caribbean Cool seperated his shoulder at a house show in Ft. Myers.

 

The early report is that he will need surgery, and 3 months off due to it, but WWE is hoping he can work the Survivor Series elimination match on Sunday.

 

There is also hope that the MRI comes back with better news. We should know the extent of his injury after tonight's SmackDown tapings.

Damn it I was really digging Cool's push. Who's gonna get the belt now? I say throw it on someone who's somewhat established like RVD or Rey and NOT Hardcore Holly.

Yeah, now that they know hes gunna be out 3 months after surgery, it totally sucks. I was also starting to get into his character. His laid back attitude was kinda refreshing since most wrestlers try to get over by being "intense."

I've been liking the character since the vignettes, but I'm only starting to get into his matches. Cool can always pull a big show and NEVER defend the title for 4 months and just hang around spitting his never-ending supply of apples on people

This is just awful on so many levels.

 

First the loss of the US title to CCC after Cena did that series with Booker T and just up and lose it to Carlito.

 

Carlito defends it what two or three times before the injury?

 

he goes to the SS will probably be eliminated first in his group and he goes off to surgery and on the shelf for 3 months or so.

 

And so the US title thats been bounced around gets lost in the shuffle of either a battle royal or another useless tournament.

I think Carlito should have a "Suspended Indefinitly" tag by Long because of the Police's investigation of the Cena nightclub attack.

 

It's perfect to advance the angle, something different then "he got hurt". Makes him look for bad ass for being in a police investigation. Strip the title from him and instead of a Battle Royal. Re-establish the "value" of the title with a one night 8 man tournament at Armageddon including Eddy Guerrero and TBS. I know the title is below those two but they should be in it to make it mean more.

The Big Show Vs JBL (He's dropping the title at Surser, and you could easily have him do a "I won't stand for the United States title potentially be represented by someone who doesn't respect the morals of America" reasoning).

RVD Vs Eddy (two mega faces going after the title). RVD wins a clean competitive battle.

On the Survivor Series PPV last night, SD GM Theodore Long booked Carlito vs. John Cena for the United States Heavyweight Championship for this Thursday's Smackdown. If Carlito doesn't show up, he will be stripped.

 

Local ads in Dayton are advertising John Cena making a "one time only" appearance, so there's a chance they will not have a long match, but Cena will be appearing. Depending on the rest of his filming schedule for The Marine, the possibilities are that either Cena will win the title, with an injury angle shot, so Carlito can rehab his legit shoulder injury, or Carlito will not show up and therefore be stripped of the belt.

I can see Carlito returning from injury with the US title belt leading to a Ladder Match at Mania Vs. Whomever the US champ is (Cena, maybe RVD) with both US titles above the ring ala WM X.

I can't see Cena getting the belt back if he's gonna take off again so either CCC will no show or there will some sort of dusty finish leading up to the US title being vacated.

The flaw in that line of thinking has been shown many times, including, when they tried it with Angle and the US belt.

 

Adding big names to a midcard title hunt rarely if ever "makes the title mean more" and more often than not devalues the actual wrestler.

A Mid-carder should win the title by beating higher profile people as clean as possible or just do the same when defending the title. Countless victories over unover/unpushed Cruiserweights and Jobbers doesn't help it.
