Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 Very unimpressive on Boise St's part. Just finish the season and be happy with an undefeated season and Top 10 ranking.
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 Hmmmm late in the first half and Cal is being shutout by Washington, 3-0. This is a game on paper that looked like it'd be over about five mintues in.

Bored 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 Auburn is making a serious statement today. No matter what side of the USC/that other team debate you are on, if Auburn goes undefeated they must be in the Orange Bowl. For those with any hope for their ever being a playoff you have to root hard for those three teams to run the table now as that truly is the BCS nightmare scenerio. Have to wait to see the highlights if it was a haily mary or not but Colorado beat Kansas State on a 64-yard touchdown pass with five seconds left in the game, 38-31. Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 Wisconsin possibly losing, hmm Bad for part of me wanting multiple undefeated teams to fuck up the BCS but good for the part of me wanting Michigan to win the Big 10 and go to a BCS bowl The Michigan fan in me wins
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 Law of averages had Wisconsin losing one of their final two games. Of course I thought law of averages dictated Auburn losing today but I was way wrong on that one. Michigan vs. Cal, assuming it happens, is going to be a lot of fun in the Rose Bowl. Notre Dame continues to be impossible to figure out as they lose to Pittsburgh, 41-38. Even with the loss and very likely a 6-5 record staring them in the face (only have the game at USC left) they still are going to the Gator Bowl most likely. Apparantly the Gator Bowl officials have already made it clear they want Notre Dame against Florida State or Miami. Can't blame them from a ticket selling standpoint. Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 Auburn stays unbeaten after a dominant performance over Georgia Speaking of dominance, Wisconsin is getting dominated by MSU right now
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 Here is an interesting one: If Utah wins tonight, they SHOULD be in the top six of the BCS unless the computers find a reason WHY the team in 8th should jump them or the Badgers should stay in front of them after getting SLAMMED by Michigan St. The teams in 8th and 9th are Georiga and Michigan. Georiga is losing Michigan defeated Northwestern In conclusion, if Utah wins then there is no excuse they shouldn't be in the top 6 of the BCS.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 How the hell did Pitt put up 41 points?! They played Notre Dame. ND has had a way of bringing out the best in their opponents. It's very very confusing.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 Oh! Here is an oddity for you. If we went with computer rankings only, check this out. 1. Oklahoma 2. USC 3. Auburn 4. CAL 5. Texas 6. Boise State 7. Arizona State 8. Utah 9. Wisconsin 10. Michigan So, the thing hurting Boise State is NOT the computer but the human voters. The AP has them 14 and USA today has them 13. If the AP and the USA had placed them higher, Boise State might actually BE in a BCS bowl right now. How confusing is THAT??? But the computer DID prove it's problem with Arizona State in 7th. snuffbox 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 Mich State is now running up the score...a bit pathetic considering Barry Alvarez on the sidelines is known and respected for never doing that. Nonetheless, Badgers are getting forked in the BUTT...and hard.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 Maybe Palko turned the corner today. 27/43 for 331 and 5 TDs with no INTs. He was once the best QB prospect in the nation; maybe he's starting to live up to it. Pitt could be interesting next year.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 I believe I called that MSU ownage of Wisconsin early on in this thread. Badgers have been getting by on smoke, mirrors, and a crappy Big 10. Michigan is easily the superior team, though the two don't actually meet.
Guest bigm350 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 I really don't think Wisconsin's all that great. They're good, but I'd pick Michigan to beat them. Too bad they're not playing this year. Well that settles it. Getting whipped by MSU definitely makes Wisconsin a team that shouldn't be in the Top 15. Michigan for the Rose Bowl!

Bored 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 We got bonus coverage of the Tech/A&M game on the west coast because there is some power failure in Wyoming delaying the start of the Utah game and I swear ABC must have had A&M home announcers doing the game. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 Well, all the people that were all worried about Utah missing out on a BCS berth can relax. The Wisconsin loss puts them at least in the Top 6, and after Texas's shitty performance against Kansas, they could lose enough points to drop back behind Utah as well. Also, correct me if I'm wrong here, but if Auburn plays USC in the Orange Bowl, doesn't the Fiesta Bowl automatically get Oklahoma? I think Oklahoma vs. Utah could be an incredibly intriguing matchup, and if Utah won, they might even be recognized as being worthy of a small share of the national championship. Bored 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 You're right iggy the Big XII automatic bid goes to the Fiesta Bowl if the conference champ is not in the national championship game. I'm thinking about the possibilty of Utah vs. Boston College in the Fiesta Bowl and wouldn't it be bizarre that Utah would be playing a lesser quality opponent in that bowl than the would be playing in the Liberty Bowl (Louisville)? Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 Edwin certainly is not pleased right now Miss Slayer should be happy though as it gives VT a shot at winning the conference now... although they have to play both of those two big teams playing right now Stinging, man. The game was great, and we were *so* close. The whole field goal at the end was weird - everyone in the stadium didn't get that the Canes had called a time-out at the end. And then Berlin just hooked up with Parish for the win out of nowhere. Sigh. Ultimately, it was just the problem of a team still developing: great teams don't miss a tackle on the 9 that turns into a 50-yard punt return, and great teams don't give up that morale-crushing play to end it. One of the best games the Cavs played this year, but in the end, half-a-step too short. What's more depressing is that there's an incredibly good chance that we could finish 9-2 this season and still end up in the freaking Tangerine Bowl against Iowa State or some other Big 12 North reject. Yuck. I'm still happy with Peach Bowl against South Carolina, UF, or Bama, but both Virginia and Miami will probably need to beat VT for that to happen. Wisconsin getting beat by Michigan State isn't a huge surprise, but the 49-14 score sure is. Crikey.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2004 If anyone's watching the Bama/LSU game, LSU just got away with the worst call I've ever seen. Cornerback Webster straight shoved a Bama receiver over in the end-zone a move that should have sent flags flying instantly, but the refs didn't call it and he returned an interception 60 yards. Huge play, and probably the worst blown call I've ever seen.

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted November 14, 2004 Clemson loses to Duke 16-13. So much for Tommy Bowden saving his job with the Miami win. Tommy's job is safe because Clemson can't afford to buy out the huge contract he signed last year. However, I think Holtz is retiring. Most likely in Monday's press conference. They looked completely unprepared. -=Mike
