No option for subhuman monkey?

-=Mike

No. Monkeys are much better than this man. MUCH better.

Monkeys deserve better.

Start calling them anteaters, no one likes anteaters.

Don't be hatin' anteaters. You probably know some aunteaters yourself -- they're called uncles.

One thing I'll give Clinton credit for is that he tried to make peace in the Middle East, and that 2000 event pretty much exposed Arafat as the punk-ass bitch that he was.

See you in hell, Yasser.

(Rush had a great line yesterday about how he was sent off with a 21-Son-Salute...)

I wouldn't say himself was a terrorist, its just the people that look up to him, make him out to be a terrorist.

I'm indifferent about him.

You missed the Ayatollah's funeral where the body fell out of casket.

I'm sure he can download it somewhere.

I'll remember him for his funeral. That was one of the most odd spectacles I've ever seen in my 19 years on this planet.

In a way, I wouldn't mind if we that in America when our leaders died.

"And look, they're swarming Reagan's casket"

"He truely was a great communicator"

but i'd imagine that we have better security and more restraint.

North Korea declares mourning for ‘close friend’ Arafat

SEOUL: North Korea has declared three days of mourning for late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, ordering flags to fly at half mast at some buildings to honour “a close friend”, the official KCNA news agency reported on Friday. Arafat was declared dead in Paris on Thursday. North Korea did not say who would attend Friday’s funeral in Cairo. “The government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea decided to set the period from Nov. 15 to 17 as a mourning period and fly flags at half mast at some institutions in this period,” KCNA said, using North Korea’s official name. “A close friend of the Korean people, President Yasser Arafat visited the DPRK six times from October 1981 to June 1993,” KCNA said. “He was awarded the title of Hero of the DPRK during his first Korean visit.” reuters

We could even have states refusing the last wishes of former Presidents. Screw President Reagan that mean spirited facist is not getting buried in California.

Screw Jimmy Carter, Georgia doesn't want that UN loving, dictator kissup commie bastard being buried in Georgia.

I will remember a man who greatly hindered the Palenstinians chances to achieve a land of their own. The fact that he hoarded over a billion dollars of money which might have helped his people, makes him scum. A true hero would have spread the wealth to help his people. He made it impossible for the new PM (a few years ago) to make any progress (which I believe this PM was someone who was at least reasonable and realisitic). He is responsible for many terrorist acts, such as the 72 Munich Games slaughter and numerous hijakings. His only goal was the destruction of Isreal, which is just not going to happen, no matter how brilliant it was for the UN to split Palestine in two, one side for Palestine and Isreal.

I agree that he was the worse candidate for the Peace Prize, as his actions afterwards demand that the Runner up that year should get the award. However, I also blame Isreali radicals for the assasination of the PM, who earned the award too that year as well, as another cause for the fight to go on. But Arafat proved to be so narrow minded that when they had a chance to get some land to call their own, he refused, and the fighting continued. I have said that I believe the Palastenians deserve a home to call their own, but not by Arafat's methods of terror. If they try adapting the ways of Ghandi and that of peaceful protest (it worked for India) they might have more success. Arafat in the end, ended up hurting his people way more than he did to help. Ignorance of the Palestinians is why they mourn him as hero, when I hope one day they examine what he sponsored and how that has caused the Palestinians to lose more and more. And I can not reiterate how disgusting it is that while his people go hungry, he rolled in the money. And since his people are ignorant for the most part, they blame the Jews for their plight. while not realizing that their so-called leader has hoarded money meant to help them.

The Palestinians are now at a crossroad. My guess they might choose another Arafat, who will promise the death to Isreal, and the same result will happen. I hope not, becuase I feel that if the Palestinians get a land to call their own and a chance to let it flourish will help to bring much needed peace to this region. Also, it takes a recruiting tool away from Al Queda, Hamas, etc. Isreal has every right to defend themselves, even though there are times they have gone a little too far, but at the same time they aren't attaching bombs to 18 years old and promising them a bunch of virgins if they blow up a disco. And who wants that many virgins anyways, to me it would be an enternity of "Ouch!, Stop!, You are Hurting me?, I know that would drive me crazy. Terrorism only breeds violent responses, especially when the gov. you attack is armed to the teeth and will have no qualms to strike back in kind.

I don't know what the solution is to this, but I have a few ideas and suggestions (all of this is a perfect world setting).

1. As much as some don't think that sub-monkeys should get their own land, there are many Palestinians who I am sure are good people who would like to earn a decent living in a country to call home. Palestinians need to a leader who is moderate and who realizes that Palestine should take what they can get, and be happy with that. No more terror and put an end to any PLO -type terrorist groups as they make matters much worse. Also, Palastine should come to the realization that Isreal is not going anywhere it is here to stay. The more they fight Isreal, the more they lose land as it becomes occupied by the Isrealis. It is ok for Palestinians to dislike Isreal, but they must also respect/recognize it's existence. No more attacking innocents, as this hurts more than it helps. The only thing Isreal has to do is to remove the illegal settlements, as they must be willing to compromise and an illegal settlement is illegal.

2. A key also is to improve education for the Palestinians. Many are illeterate and have to go by what is preached from the Koran from someone else. And you know the routine, they are taught nit-picked parts of the Koran which justifies killing, yet skipping all the other messages that are similar to Jesus and loving everyone, even those who don't follow the faith. More litterate citizens allows them to read and think for themsleves. And it also helps them question what is preached to them more. I also think this will be able to help those be able to see the hypocrisy that is spewed at them. (hmm kinda of reminds me of Preachers in the USA who nit pick the Bible to justify their cause)

3. Every cent Arafat hoarded for himself is immediated seized and given to the people it was meant for. Having money tends to decrease hate, and increase the hope. The new leader must be a honest man and actually make sure the money does not disappear into a Swiss Bank Account.

4. And finally, any government system set up needs to be secular, with a seperation of church and state. As it has been shown, when religion is allowed to justify attacking non-Muslim countries using nit-picking religion, will guarantee fighting to continue. And religion as a guide to make you a better person = good. Religion used to justify things like stoning an uncovered woman or kill the infidels = bad.

I do see a glimmer of hope here with Arafat's death. A Palestinian homeland is one of the keys to peace. Sure many actions of the terrorists groups have greatly hurt the Palestinians. Isreali retialiations end up getting the bad guys, but also end up hurting innoncent people as well. So I say the terrorist need to be codemned and told to go away. These people don't deserve a homeland to call there own. But for all the innocent people, they do deserve the opportunity that Arafat's leadership never could make happen. I can honeslty say that I am not sad to see him finally pass away. He blew so many opportunities based on his hatred of Isreal clouding his judgement and logic. I hope that the next leader is not more of the same, but one who is tired of losing the fight and realizes that the Palastenians land is slowly being engulfed an becomming less a reality. Hopefully they look to Ghandi as inspiration and they might just get their land and bring peace to that area.

Depends on who you're talking about.

How will the Big Media remember Arafat?

As an old guy who talked out of both sides of his mouth.

How will the UN remember Arafat?

As a nutso who brought a loaded pistol into the General Assembly.

How will Israel remember Arafat?

As the second most evil guy is history, next to Hitler.

How will the red states remember Arafat?...

Whatever Bush tells them to remember. :P
