Mole Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Thank God Mike hasn't found this thread yet. I thought he was going to do something on Tony Blair.
CBright7831 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I want to know what he's done for Flint. Nothing really. Flint has always been featured in all of his movies.
The Czech Republic Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 It's great that he brings them up and how awful it is there now, but what has he given back to the city? The whole idea of Roger & Me is that it's wrong to just be out to make money and you have an obligation to give back to your city. At the end of Roger & Me he says this film cannot be shown in the city of Flint because all the theatres have closed. Surely he could've built one. Assuming he didn't make that part up.
Mole Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Did he have the money to build one at the time?
The Czech Republic Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Well at the time of the release, not at all, but at the present day, surely he has enough money to give back to the community that did so much for him. Someone said he went to private school outside of Flint. is this true?
2GOLD Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 All Mikey has to do is go eat at a diner in Flint. He could put the owner's kids and his grandkids through college with one of his "meals". I'd think that could be considered giving back to the town.
Guest thebigjig Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 ... and if you're referring to Michael Moore, you're an idiot. He's no left wing filmmaking pioneer fighting for truth and justice. At least not for the most part. For the most part, he's providing views that stir up controversy and he does this via half-truths. The guy doesn't outright lie, but I guarantee you that he has the ability to turn an idiot from Republican to Democrat. Edit: Idiot Republican to Democrat. Well I generally believe nothing that the federal government tells me and if that makes me an idiot then so be it. It doesn't make you an idiot. It makes you paranoid and kind of crazy. Because the US government has a REMARKABLE history of telling the truth to it's citizens...
Guest Smues Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Farienheit 9/11 1/2? What a lame title. I was expecting "No. Supersize ME!" The best thing about Bush winning the election (other then I thought he was the better candidate and all those little unimportant thing) is that if Kerry won Mikey would be screaming "LOOK LOOK MY MOVIE KICKED BUSH OUT OF OFFICE. YOU ALL HAVE ME TO THANK!! ME ME ME!! (now can I finally get a discount card at Old Country Buffet? PLEASE??)"

Farienheit 9/11 1/2? What a lame title. I was expecting "No. Supersize ME!" He should use "Fahrenheit 911,000." That's the death toll in Iraq now, right INXS?

Actually, he would have waited three months before starting a project to get Kerry thrown out of office.
Ravenbomb Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 I want to know what he's done for Flint. He left.
