Owen Hart, Mick Foley, selling popcorn bag shots

I read about a small reference to this a few weeks ago. Can someone please expand on that, ie, when and where it happened, and so on? Thanks, I'd really appreciate it, and I could use a good laugh.

It was all explained in Foley's first book. Basically, Owen and Mick (wrestling as Dude Love) agreed to have a stinker of a match. Dave Meltzer was in the audience, so this had a lot to do with it. It became sort of a hardcore match, and Mick brought in a bag of popcorn and nailed Owen with it several times, who sold it like death each time.

IIRC, they did it to make Stone Cold Austin (at ringside) break character and crack up, and Foley said Austin had his head buried in his arms on the apron from hiding his laughter at the match.

Damn I wish this was on tape...unless it's HandHeld. Foley also I think sold a shot to the head with a giant bag of popcorn like death vs. The Rock on Halftime Heat.

Owen and Dude Love had a number of "streetfights" in the weeks prior to Bad Blood. I'm sure that wasn't the only time the popcorn or any other unusual props were used.

Yeah, I believe Dude Love pushed a crate full of plastic soda lids on top of Owen during one of their matches, which Owen slowly and dramatically sold as each one floated through the air to hit him.

Halftime heat was chockfull of this crap/gold.

 

Rock eatting salsa: 'Ugh, it's mild' slaps salsa on Mankind, who sells.

 

Rock picks up a piece of fruit 'Rock doesn't even know what this is!' throws it at Foley, who sells.

 

And one of my all time favourites, they're fighting in the bathroom slamming each other around.

 

Girl: EEEK!

 

Rock: (panting and sweating, but suddenly givng the 'sexy look' and speaking in a 'sexy voice' )

Hey, baby. You want a piece of the Rock?

 

Girl: EEEK! NO!

 

ROck: (angrily)

Well, well, the rock says your nothing but a big skanky ho! Get the steppin'.

 

(Resumes beating)

 

guess you gotta see it. but the Rock looking half dead and hitting on this girl while Foley is doing his usual selling noises and looking almost all dead is great, and whoever was the lady was hilarious. She seemed absolutely terrified.
