Batista instead of Orton

Recommended Posts

Batista is not a face. I don't see how that would work at all.

He's already a face with some of us here. Its mainly cause he dresses snazzy, but he's still over with us.

Maybe age had something to do with it?  I believe Dave is currently 36, so you figure he was around 33/34 when he got called up to play Deacon Batista on SD.  He'd be about 34/35 when he gets put in Evolution.  I guess Vince didn't want to spend all the effort on a guy who's already in his mid-30's and (at the time) injury-prone, as opposed to a guy in his mid-20's (who was also injury-prone).

That is inaccurate, Dave Batista is 35, born January 18, 1969.

Eh, I'm off a year, big deal. The point still stands that he's already in his mid-30's, so Vince isn't likely to build around a new guy who is already "old".

Fan of coils is a suggestion of a change to the Death Knight's ultimate in the Warcraft III game actually.

To help clarify, he is not a face at all. Tweener definitely. One good catchphrase made by the fans, or maybe not, would push him even further into the Tweener stages.

I have no idea what you just said.  Try speaking English next time ;)

I am speaking English, a coil is something that hurts most enemy units and heals your own units, a fan of coils is a bunch of coils that would hurt a lot of enemy units and heal a lot of your own units. It has been suggested by some people that one of the heros (which is what they are called) in Warcraft III, the Death Knight's, ultimate (its best spell) is changed to this.

You gave us inaccurate information and you brushed off your inaccuracy when you were told it was incorrect. Very bad.

1 year hardly makes a difference.  Just bump all my ages back a year.  Bottom line - Batista is "too old" to get Orton's huge push.

BTW, this is the lamest argument ever.

1 year usually hardly makes a difference, but you still gave us inaccurate information. There is nothing lame about this argument. You gave us inaccurate information and you brushed it aside when your age of Batista was proven wrong. Bret Hart got his big push in his mid 30s BTW.

Batista has a better look than Orton, has more charisma than Orton, can arguably wrestle better than Orton, and is more over than Orton.  Therefore the answer is yes.

Batista may have a better look and may be the more charismatic of the two but to say he is more over and a better performer in the ring is so far from the truth it's not funny.

Orton has had good-very good matches with Foley, Benoit, Edge and HHH. Everytime Batista has been in the ring with Benoit and Edge he's showed me nothing besides the demon bomb, clothes line and the knee to the throat while his opponent is under the ropes.

For everyone that says that Orton's push has been a colossal failure watch Raw and listen to the pops he's getting. He is easily one of the top 2 or 3 over baby faces on the Raw side. His reaction at SurSer was the best on the babyface team.

He has been forced down our throats and it has taken time for him to develop his babyface persona but he is getting bettewr at it and as a result the crowd is buying him more as a babyface.

Bret Hart got his big push in his mid 30s BTW.

Bret Hart had been around for years before his big push. Batista had only been on the main roster for a little over a year before being put in Evolution, not to mention being pretty injury-prone. Vince isn't going to give big pushes to new guys who he considers "old" and are effectively learning on the job.

Orton was injury-prone, too, as well as learning on the job, but at least he's young and would realistically be around for many more years than Batista, which is why Orton got the push.
