It's just pathetic to hear Mack Brown's whining and begging for voters to screw over Cal.

I'd like to know just who the teams are that Mack theinks Texas is more deserving than. He surely can't be talking about Cal, can he?

There more deserving than the Big East team.....but hell everyone is......

Ok I take back the running up the score thing b/c Carrol's now put his second stringer in there. He just needed to get Leinhart a 5 TD game to match Jason White's 2 or 3 five TD games.

Huh?

Leinart (NO H DAMMIT) and White now have the exact same number of 5 TD games.

Damn that H! Damn it to hell! This is Leinart's second 5 TD game this season? God damn. This is difficult to decide now.

Oh I said they all will probably win in 50 point blowouts to complicate things OR they'll all lose.......man wouldn't that be wild? Hell that'd be chaos.

Actually, it's Leinart's first 5 TD game. White had one against A&M and that's it. He had 4 each against the two Kansas teams.

Next year Penn State will go 8-3. I'm calling it now.

No they won't. Paterno's lost it has a head coach, and beating dog Michigan St. and getting lucky against Indiana only hurts Penn St. has JoePa might have been declined to retire had they even lost 1 of those games. Instead, Paterno thinks it's 1979 again.

Maybe if his team didn't schedule nothing but creampuffs and lose to the only good team they play every year they might have seen a BCS bowl the last few seasons. Hopefully the coaches don't listen to his whining.

Well let's see, in Cal's loss the Bears were one Aaron Rodgers incomplete pass away from beating USC in Los Angeles.

In Texas' case, Mack just proved again that he can't win a meaningful game to save his life as his offense got shut out.

I could've sworn he had 5 against OSU or Kansas...oh well......how many 4 TD games has Leinart had?

Ok there obviously the Top 2 battling it out for this trophy. Can I get a stat comparison in here? B/c they're obviously going to be close going into the final week. It's funny people started the season saying they'd battle for the Heisman then towards the middle it was all about the Freshman Adiran Peterson now it's back to White and Leinart.

Rice, North Texas and who else? God damn did they just have to run through all the Texas creampuffs?

As an OU fan I have an automatic hatred for Texas. But as a Big XII fan I have to root for them to do good. But I like Cal a lot. They're probably one of my fav teams behind OU(and that's way behind) so I want them to win the Rose bowl handidly.......and well.....I'm being torn with allegiances from every direction!

I've been hearing that every season for the past several years. Paterno always claims to have a new found energy that will translate into a big season and they go out and suck each season.

I'll believe it when they do it.

It's still not over for the 3 undefeated teams because next week will be some tests:

USC goes to the Rose Bowl for a rivalry game and UCLA would love nothing more than to ruin USC's season

Oklahoma has Colorado in the Big XII title game, while it should be a win for the Sooners, Gary Barnett's teams are known for pulling upsets (2001 Nebraska game, 2001 Big XII title game)

Auburn's got Tennessee in Atlanta and it could be very tough for them depending on if Erik Ainge can play or not.

It's possible they could. Don't think it will happen. However a more likely scenario is that Auburn loses in the Sugar Bowl to Miami if they beat V.T. next week.

The more I think about it, I believe that Urban Meyer is probably not going to Florida. He's most likely waiting to see what happens with Willingham at Notre Dame since that's basically his dream job. I think there's a better chance that Bobby Petrino will be the next coach at Florida.

White: 205-325 (64.3%), 2707 yards, 30 TD, 4 INT.

Leinart: 229-345 (66.4%), 2752 yards, 28 TD, 5 INT.

It's almost a complete wash at this point.

EDIT: One more..

Alex Smith: 185-280 (66.1%), 2624 yards, 28 TD, 4 INT.

White and Leinart are close that is a tough decision. They both lead varying categories and are close in the ones that the other leads. It's to hard to tell. Next week pretty much seperates them so expect them both to throw for 400 and 5 TD's to complicate everything.

But GOD DAMN look at Alex Smith! That boy needs it!

As for Penn State, Paterno will never be fired.  He's done too much for the school to be forced out.  Hopefully someone can convince him to step down for the good of the program, but he'll be there as long as he wants to be.

There's only one way Paterno is giving up his job

Which do you think would be a better Sugar bowl......Auburn/Miami or Auburn/VT?

I'd say Auburn/Miami b/c of the defensive battle it will produce.

Does anyone think the Orange Bowl will be a shootout or defensive battle? Are we looking at a 42-35 game or a 14-10 game?

Remember the Simpsons episode with Burns' bear and how he kept losing it? Remember the end when it was Burns in the future with his head attached to that machine? That's gonna be Paterno on the sidelines in about 75 years.

Or he could be a Futurama head-in-a-jar

I personally think Auburn hands Miami their asses. Miami is NOT a good team this year. They were crap for 2/3 of the U of L game, they were total crap vs. UNC, and also Clemson. Auburn hasn't been crappy all year.

I'm just curious but how does Stephan Lefors' stats compare to Smith, White, Leinart, etc?

Auburn was crappy in the first half against Alabama.

I would LOVE to see Auburn/Miami, but that means Tennessee losing next week, so fuck that. Tennessee/Miami would be fun, but a game we've seen the last two years already.

After winning two squeakers against the two worst teams in their conference (not to mention two of the worst teams in all of I-A), I predict Tennessee getting it's ass thoroughly whipped by Auburn

Two teams that are also rivals of ours, plus playing with our third-string quarterback, as well as simply looking ahead to the SEC Championship game ever since beating South Carolina.

Yeah, we'll get trounced.

I'm telling you, don't sleep on Pitt. You're completely missing the point that they're a young team with a blue chip quarterback who is only getting better.

The team is a far better team than they were earlier in the season, and if they beat SF and win the BCS bid, I wouldn't be shocked to see them knock off Utah or whomever is likely to go in the Fiesta.

And that'll be a godsend for Pitt's recruiting, too. My NCAA 2005 dynasty's projection is right on schedule...

One thing to also consider is Smith's rushing numbers and rushing TDs.

Hrm...

I don't think Kentucky and Vanderbilt are the two worst BCS-conference teams. Are they really THAT much worse than Temple, Baylor, Indiana, Washington, Washington State, or Illinois this year?

If you expand this to other leagues, are they that much worse than 1/2 of the MAC, Mountain West, WAC, or Sun Belt?

Teams like Idaho, Utah State, UL-Lafayette, UL-Monroe, and San Jose State are perennial cellar-dwellars in mid-majors.

That being said, Tennessee will be Auburn's whipping boy because they're pissed that they're being counted out of the title hunt.

Who cares what Pitt does in the Fiesta Bowl? The game means nothing and it doesn't really prove they belong in a BCS game.

Louisville is better than Utah. 1 loss by 2 points at Miami. Utah wouldn't of beat Miami on the road.

Even if they aren't considered good by some now, they certainly will be next year. Louisville won't completely walk over the Big East. I actually think the conference has a better long-term look than people give it.

Northwestern losing to Hawaii eliminates the Wildcats from Bowl contention. That leaves Tulane, and Hawaii has the only teams who can become bowl eligible. A win by Hawaii next week gets them a spot in the Hawaii Bowl.

That leaves Minnesota for the Music City Bowl against Alabama. The Motor City Bowl know has an at-large spot. Possibly Notre Dame. Since the Big East should have 3 teams 2 games better than Notre Dame, they aren't aligned with a Big East bowl.

Well, if Texas could win their conference, I'm sure they'd be more than deserving.

I don't care about who makes the BCS outside the Orange Bowl. I won't complain that Texas is left out for Pitt. Going into the season it was known the Big East got a spot. I'm speaking on performance. Texas is clearly the better team. But, like I said we knew a Big East team would make it.
