WOW. If he's just a tiny bit more to the left he wins with a 60 yarder.

Well, JAX is essentially done for in the powerful AFC. At 6-6 they have almost zero chance in the division since the Colts are just the bitchmasters right now. I guess that with the Ravens and the Broncos both losing they are still just 1 game out.

Almost zero chance is laying it on a bit too much, though. They still have a decent chance provided they don't lose again and really Denver just needs to lose one game for the Jags to overtake them because Jacksonville holds the tiebreaker. If Baltimore loses two more games and Denver loses one more, it's Jacksonville's spot to lose.

The gifts weren't always given by the officials ;)

Hah! Point taken.

So-

I think we can really see the playoff picture now, and they're showing the whole tiebreaker scenarios and the Division Leaders/Wild Card/Still Alive graphics. So yes, the playoffs are just around the corner. I'm extremely depressed because of Green Bay's showing today, but I guess I'm just going to hope it was an extreme aberration and they're going to come out firing for the rest of the year. I knew that the games against Philadelphia and Jacksonville are/were going to be tough, and we have to hope for at least a split in those to have a chance, especially since they have back to back road games in Minnesota and Chicago to finish out the season.

So, much like I held out hope at the beginning of the 3rd quarter that Green Bay would somehow still pull it out-- a thought overwhelmed by naive optimism- I still will hold a yes, naive and optimistic view on the rest of the season and just hope that somehow, some way Green Bay and Philly happen to meet again and exact revenge. Because it very much seems that the road towards the Super Bowl runs through Philadelphia as of right now in the NFC, and if Green Bay has been playing like the 2nd best team in the conference right now, there's a whole lot of distance between #1 and the rest. Philadelphia made a believer out of me today. Honestly, now that the game has sunk in more, I was thinking back and feeling as if I was watching my old high school team play the Philadelphia Eagles. I seriously have never seen my guys get so totally outclassed in every single aspect of the game. Run Defense, Pass Defense, Pass Offense, Rush Offence, nothing stood a chance. There was absolutely no answer for them, once Philadelphia got on a roll, there was no stopping them whatsoever. I think that's really the key to stopping them, much like the Vikings, you have to take them by surprise early and force them to play uphill. Pittsburgh and Cleveland both did that, and one came away with a win and the other almost did in OT.

I didn't watch the Pittsburgh game because I don't want to hear about this game (although undoubtedly I will be mocked and ashamed for it all week, probably the rest of the season) ever again. But good for Pittsburgh pulling out tough wins. The AFC playoffs should be a hell of a thing to watch.

I'd also love to see the Panthers somehow run the table and make the playoffs. All they need is 4 more games in a row! The NFC playoffs won't be too bad, provided that somehow Seattle or St.Louis don't make the playoffs. It'll help to have as many teams from the NFC North as possible in there to make them good-great games.

I don't think Jacksonville wins their last 4, and I think 9-7 does not get in with the AFC, but I do think they'll have a shot in every game. Jacksonville needs to move the ball better when they are inside the opponents 30 and in. However, a lot of that can go to the Steelers defense.

Jacksonville's 6-6, not 5-7. 10-6 is good enough, but this is the rest of their schedule:

Sun 12/12 Chicago 1:00 pm

Sun 12/19 at Green Bay 4:15 pm

Sun 12/26 Houston 1:00 pm

Sun 1/2 at Oakland 4:15 pm

Good thing to know they get to play Green Bay in their last home game of the season.

Hopefully with the lone loss coming to Green Bay.

Okay, I got to page 6 of this thread before skipping to the end, but I need to say that if people think the Bengals will have it easy against Buffalo, they're smoking dope...now if it was week 4 or 5, I would agree, but ever since inserting McGahee into the lineup, they have been exploding offensively on people left and right and doing exactly what they need to do defensively to win games...they've won the last 6 of 7 games or 5 of 6 or some shit haven't they? For Bengals fans and supporters to consider that game a gimme is retarded...

The Bills are the hottest team in the NFL, are they not? The best part is, with regards to the AFC Wild Card race, we may have the easiest schedule of the bunch (Bengals, Browns, 49ers, Steelers (who hopefully will sit their starters on the last week). The one thing I'm worried about is tiebreakers, as they aren't going to work in Buffalo's favour.

The Bengals are just as hot a team right now. I'm not saying it's a gimme just that it's a very winnable game for them compared to what they could have.

yeah Jacksonville needs to lose a game or two here down the stretch and obviously they're fucked if they tie the Jets...unfortunantly, I don't see the Bills winning out, even though on paper they should...I would be okay with an 8-8 season seeing as how it's Mularky's first and a few games that they lost they really shoulda won...

The Jets are 9-3 right now, and I don't see the Wild Card Five (Baltimore, Denver, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Jacksonville, and maybe Houston) coming near them, let alone tying them. The Jets, to me, are a lock for the #5 seed since they probably won't catch New England.

I'm more worried about Buffalo being tied with Jacksonville (as you mentioned) or Baltimore (who they also lost to).

I find it funny that you guys whine about Bengal fans saying Buffalo is a winnable game and then turn around and act the same way about the Bengals.

because it's true!

I never said Cincy is a winnable game for Buffalo as both teams are about on even par...if anything that should be an AFC game of the week if it plays out right...I did say that they will prolly end up 8 and 8 with the two losses being Cincy and Pittsburgh, as i WILL say Cleveland and SF are definently gimmes...

I hope it gets played here but as I've said a million times our Fox will play a shitty meaningless Cowboys game instead a game that means something.

Oh I can top that countless times:

Chicago vs. Tennessee

Dallas vs. Arizona instead of an SF/Carolina game that was going to decide their division back when the Panthers were 12-4.

Dallas tops that on a weekly shit basis and I should know because I'm cursed with them at least 12 times a season.

I want to get NFL ticket, but I just don't think 200 bucks is worth it unless you're into fantasy football and gambling, which I do neither of...so in the meantime I'm stuck with good ol' regional coverage BS...Packers, Viking, Broncos and Chiefs every week with the occasional game featuring other teams depending on who's doing the two game sunday (fox or cbs)...
