Flaws in WWE logic

Recommended Posts

wrestling always has logic flaws, not just WWE. Try not to think about it or your brains will turn to mush

and how good did samoa joe get lately, since I last saw him wrestling in my local boys and girls club in southern cali about 3 years ago (he didnt look that special back then he was in a generic samoan tag team with a rikishi looklalike) now everyone here is saying he should be in WWE? Man I need to get some indy tapes or somethin.

and the problem with everyone complaining about guys like RVD not being on top is, that fans dont come to a wwe show to see one guy anymore (like hogan in the 80s) they come for the whole show. so there really are no more draws in wrestling these days. I bet you that if RVD had won the world title back in 02, the ratings woulda stayed the same and nothing would be different today.

I can't stand the guy in anything other than tag matches, but RVD *could* have been a draw if given the chance when he 1st came in. The fans were into him enough that the WWE should have at least put the belt on him once to gauge what they had. If it wasn't working, then they could have just jobbed the belt off him, no harm, no foul. It's not as if the company would have went belly-up due to a failed RVD world title run.

It may have worked, it may not have. But to have not even tried is what's bad. It'd be better for them to have tried & received a definite answer either way, rather than wonder "what if that guy who was super-over was ever given a chance..."

no I know what you mean Spiff, I do, but you gotta think about all the guys that were more over or at least the WWE thought was more over during RVDs peak: HBK, HHH, Austin, Rock, Brock, Goldberg, Hogan, Benoit, Jericho, etc. he was waaaaay at the bottom of Vince's list...

Having quick title changes every month or two hurts the title value. In 2002, the Undisputed Title Changed hands 3 times in a span of 8 weeks (HHH-Hogan-Undertaker), and had 5 changes from WM X-8 to Summerslam that year.

If it's horrendously bad, then that just makes RVD look worse. By him not winning he still has the mystery of "maybe he can draw with it". If he gets a title reign and fails (or bombs), he'll be branded a loser and will never get another shot.

I would of ran with RVD, and given him a title run. He was in the top 5 for being over with the fans(even during his heel run), and some of my friends quit watching around when Kurt Angle tuned in and thought of Rob to be the next big thing. He doesn't have the mic skills, but you book to someone's strength's...not their weakness. It wouldn't have hurt to see what would have happened.

Christian's theme is inherently illogical. From LouisvilleMusicNews.com's interview with Waterproof Blonde:

For one thing, WWE came calling again and the Blonde recently finished recording a song called "Just Close Your Eyes," written by WWE music director Jim Johnston. It will be released soon on a WWE compilation that will include songs by Motorhead, Sevendust and others.

Smith noted that the song "doesn't sound like our usual stuff," which is not surprising, considering the band didn't write the tune. But the band members agreed it's a decent song and was fun to record.

"It's good for what it's for," Hagan said. "It's about a guy turning himself around to be a good person."

"In the soap opera world of wrestling," added Vier, "it's a song for a bad guy to cross over to being a good guy."

after that stuff with Edge, I was actually praying for him to turn face. He has that kind of cocky gimmick that could get him far. He picks out the fans because they like him (similiar to what Jericho and Rock did as heels) and turned it around when they turned face. Jericho made people boo with the "Jerichoholics" and Rock with "The People", just as Christian does with his million and one nicknames for the fans.

If he became a face, his "peeps" would be just that, and he would get cheered if put in the right situation. But, the sad thing is, he would need JUST the right situation.

How long has it been since Christians been a full-fledged face? I remember his "half-hearted" face run with Edge during the Invasion, although he was still acting heel-ish and wrestling faces from time to time. Before then was around Wrestlemania 2000 time.

christian was last a real face in 2000 in 99 after e and c split with gangrel they became full on faces so there you go. this lasted all the way up to around wm 2000 the week before the show e and c started being heelish towards the hardys (saying they deserved the title shot more) and continued acting heelish to backlash (where they had to play the faces against road dogg and xpac) after that they became full on heels, teaming up with kurt angle

I also was wondering why christian hasnt attacked edge back after the tag match from 2 weeks ago. theres a logic flaw for you. also the fact that they seemingly are not "brothers" anymore

as for cheap face turns, the majoritiy of them in history have been due to being attacked by other heels so this is nothing new. ortons turn is just a cheap rip-off of old horseman angles, specifically sting being kicked out in 1990 for winning a title shot at flair (in hhhs kayfabe mind, evolution is just a gruop that was made specifically to keep him on top-so when orton went out and won the world title on his own, that was like spitting in his face and jealousy turned to violence)

bottom line is trips wishes he was Flair and he aint
