Although it's no big deal now, it was shocking when Liz took off her skirt to distract The Million Dollar Man at Summerslam '88. The wrestlers, Jesse Ventura (special guest ref), and even the people in the crowd seemed as though they didn't believe their eyes.

What else comes to mind?

Gorgeous George is the obvious answer.

Don Leo Jonathan as a superheavyweight doing impressive high-risk moves in the 1950s was pretty standout too.

The Fabulous Freebirds deserve a mention for popularizing music in wrestling entrances. New Breed in the NWA was definitely ahead of their time as well.

Bad News Brown would have been perfect in the attitude days.

Brady Boone and Lanny Poffo were standouts because of their high flying stuff while getting squashed.

Edit: You can add Great Muta and Terry Funk in 89 as well.

Rowdy Roddy Piper could be considered before his time. The guy ran his mouth like it was WWF/WCW 2000, or a minor ECW.
