Check it out

This is just.......delightful. It's a Rock school contest where kids sent in their covers of Franz Ferdinand, Hendrix, Nirvana, Radiohead and others. There's tons of stuff on here to listen to.

Give it minute to load up, it's a pretty big page. Click on dialup when you want to listen to the covers.

I'd recommend checking out the Seven Nation Army cover first. That shit is hilarious.

Their cover of Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World is horrible. The band isn't bad, but the "I want to be an MTV pop/punk singer!" singing ruins it--and the spastic shouting of "YEA!" and stuff.

Editted to say: I find this to be true with a lot of these songs. The band covering them isn't spot on, but isn't too bad--then the singing kicks in and sounds NOTHING like the original.

Yea that stuff was pretty bad. I'll give the kids credit though. It's still not the worst music I've ever heard.

Keeping on the subject of kids doing music, has anyone ever listen to that Kidz Bop stuff? Their version of Linkin Park's "In the End" is almost Godlike.
