Myxamatosis Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Check it out This is just.......delightful. It's a Rock school contest where kids sent in their covers of Franz Ferdinand, Hendrix, Nirvana, Radiohead and others. There's tons of stuff on here to listen to. Give it minute to load up, it's a pretty big page. Click on dialup when you want to listen to the covers. I'd recommend checking out the Seven Nation Army cover first. That shit is hilarious. "Buy the single or stick it up your arse!"
razazteca Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Searching for the next Joss Stone are they?
Guest Wart Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 The songs wouldnt load for me, this happen to anybody else? EDIT: Nevermind, just had to turn off the firewall.
Guest PlatinumBoy Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Their cover of Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World is horrible. The band isn't bad, but the "I want to be an MTV pop/punk singer!" singing ruins it--and the spastic shouting of "YEA!" and stuff. Editted to say: I find this to be true with a lot of these songs. The band covering them isn't spot on, but isn't too bad--then the singing kicks in and sounds NOTHING like the original.
haws bah gawd Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Yea that stuff was pretty bad. I'll give the kids credit though. It's still not the worst music I've ever heard. Keeping on the subject of kids doing music, has anyone ever listen to that Kidz Bop stuff? Their version of Linkin Park's "In the End" is almost Godlike.
AboveAverage484 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 The Kids Bop version of "In the End" is better than the original.
art_vandelay Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 A lot of these are awesome! The little screw-ups are part of the appeal. Check out the kid singing on Killing In The Name.
