godthedog Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 i haven't done a single review since i moved to nyc, and i desperately need to get back into the habit (especially since there's so much good stuff here that i want to see). so i'm looking to you, the message boarders who probably don't read the main page but come to the movies folder, for guidance. all of these are recent movies that i have at least a passing desire to see. i can't guarantee that i'll go see the poll winner, but it will help in my decision-making. if you're curious about the more obscure ones... notre musique bad education primer
the max Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Finding Neverland. Me and the gal saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd like to see what someone else thought of it.
Spaceman Spiff Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Closer. Natalie Portman as a stripper.
ArkhamGlobe Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Notre musique. It's Godard damnit!
Guest Vitamin X Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Between Closer and Finding Neverland. Closer looked like it would be a great flick, while Neverland has some people talking Academy Awards for it. Even though it looked dull as fuck to me.
Guest TheLastBoyscout Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Closer. Johnny Depp is really overrated. Clive Owen is not.
Lord of The Curry Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Do Finding Neverland. I want to see it for Depp and Winslet's performances but holy shit I have no desire to watch another British fairy-tale drama about a guy I don't care about. Bad Education is my second choice.
Guest Vitamin X Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 but holy shit I have no desire to watch another British fairy-tale drama about a guy I don't care about ^^^ EXACTLY how I feel. I just don't see the appeal behind it. Is this supposed to be like a new Shakespeare in Love, only without any entertainment value?
Kahran Ramsus Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Alexander! Come on, you know you want to!
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 I chose based on title, which was obviously the Dagger one.
godthedog Posted December 7, 2004 Author Report Posted December 7, 2004 i think i'll let this poll run a little longer, mostly for the reason that i need to get a lot more work done on my term papers before i can even think about doing a review. 'notre musique' got 2 more votes than i thought it would.
