Ultimate Baseball Online

The game is free for now(don't know how long that will last. Just sign up, download the client, and join a game.

Basically you create a baseball player and jump in a game with other people. you only control your player in the field and at bad(or pitching). You gain experience points by playing in games, winning games, getting hits, etc.

Pretty fun, few glitches right now since it's kinda testing still.

I demand we start up our own league or team or however this works.

I demand it right now dammit.

I expect and demand others to follow suit.

The Client is 126MB, btw. Once I get everything set up, I'll let you know my character and stuff.

First download the client after registering.

Then click you should automatically have to create a player after signing into your account.

I managed to get Dorian to level 1! Weehee... Also found that pitching is so fun... Going to build him as a pitcher.

I downloaded it, but every time I try to boot it, it gets to "checking patch data" and then just stops, forcing me to stop the program through Windows. Weird.

I believe the League play stuff will become availible after testing is completed and the game goes officially gold...at that point there will be a $9.99 oer month fee to play. (But that shouldn't stop anyone from playing!)

actually the game is quite fun. I'm currently level 3 and have finally obtained my second pitch for Dorian. :) The Slider. Now working to get my Curve Ball.

If this has any basis in reality, you'll be much better off working on a change-up.

I'm in as Methadone. I actually played with Mr. Cartman today, although I didn't identify myself at the time.

Having fun so far, but I'm intimidated by the higher level players because I suck.

Speaking of Mr. Cartman. Fake baseball. Spring Training. Sports Folder. Now. No time for PMs.

Yup, its still free STR. Maybe I'll catch you on later tonight.

Although, as a newbie, do NOT be expecting like great hits or that. You won't get decent hits, and by decent I mean that actually clear the IF, until you get to about level 8.

You've got these for base stats:

Stamina - Basically how long you last in a game (as you lose stamina per AB). Also increases your overall attributes. If your stamina is 99, your risk for stamina loss is minute.

Arm Strength - This is how far you can throw the ball and how fast. This attribute also allows you to pick up the five speed pitches: Fastball, Change Up - 30, 2 Seamer - 40, Cut Fast - 50, Rising Fastball (Riser) - 60

Body Strength - This is all about hitting power. Higher it is, better you hit the ball.

Throwing Accuracy - This is how well you'll actually place the pitch. This attribute also allows you to pick up the six breakingball pitches: Slider - 30, Curve - 35, Screw - 40, Sinker - 45, Fork - 50, Split - 55, Knuckle - 60

Catching Range - This is basically how well you catch in your surrounding area. Not really a major concern unless you are wanting to be solely dependable on your fielding.

Quickness - This is how fast you react. Stop and go, setting up for a catch, that kinda thing. Again, more for if you wish for your fielding to be what makes you stand out.

Speed - This is how fast you move around the basepaths and how fast your run in general. More speed the better, unless you are a slugger.

Every level you'll earn 3 points to put into your base stats above, and a single point to be placed into a certain skill (pitching or batting). With pitching skills, the more points you put into a pitch, the faster and more reliable that pitch will be for you. With batting skills, you put more points into one of the 9 little boxes that make up the strike zone which increase your potential for a big hit.

From levels 0 - 8, you'll only need 100 xp to gain a level and I suggest any points you gain for your base stats you place into Stamina. After that, depending on which style you go for, spread out yoru points accordingly between Stamina and the one skill you wish to increase right away.

Hope the above helps ya out.

Edit:

If possible, I'd like to create a UBO Tourney Team with all SmartMarks that play this game.

ok if I can get it to work I'm thinking

20% points into stamina

80% points into power

smashy smashy!

If that's your choice, so be it. I'm not saying anything against it, since I've been going after all my fastball pitches with my pitcher.

Just with only like so few stamina points, your overall benefits of yours stats will drop. So that's why I say boost up your stamina points early.

Also most people who play the game are online around 3pm - 2am EST, that I've usually seen. I'm usually on around 8pm-2am EST. Weekends, its play all day, usually.

Considering my machine is pretty old STR and it runs, I'm quite sure your machine will handle it fine.

I was more referring to the fact that XP seems to think it's a 16 bit program, but I'll figure it out.

actually I think I'll make one guy with good defense to play SS/2B/CF, and then a masher to handle the corner spots.

 Weird, wonder why it thinks that. I also know that Cartman and HarleyQuinn did play this not long ago...

If you wanna play SS (most batties are Lefties in UBO), you probably want to build up your stamina, catching, and arm strength. Toss in a little body strength and your doing well.

I played the hell out of it for about a month but got tired of the glitches and the length of time it takes to play a game. It's really fun when you actually get a good group of people together with no riff-raff trying to play retarded all the time.

I'll definitely join a team if we get enough people though.

Well, if there's Cartman, STR, me and Harleyquinn (I think he'd play on an official team), we're just five people short from an official team. But still, we're like halfway there.

I'll be our team's manager and ace starter since I'm the guy purposing this.

Well, we've got like 5 people so far who play. If we had 5 more, we could get a team assembled and like have intra-squad scrimmages to build up some quick XP (and fear not having dumbasses ruin the fun). I'm also got a friend or two I think I can hook into, which would give us a few more.
