Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 I know this forum is suppose to be Current Events but from all accounts it appears to be where the political chatter is taken as well. Maybe it could be renamed to Current Events and Politics...but that's a subject for a different time. All that taken into account I'd like to know how George W. Bush isn't a terrorist. I'm an American, a once proud American infact who doesn't feel as if he lives in the greatest part of the world anymore. I live in a country where the leaders profit on the hundreds of thousands of deaths over in the Middle East right now. Where they have no problem sending the financially poor youth overseas to fight while they keep their own family safely stored away here. Our Vice President is largely in charge of the company that is suppose to rebuild Iraq once we destroy it. I'm sure he doesn't need to go to the movies early to take advantage of their matinee. Our President now has his friends' companies in the oil bussiness taking care of the oil wells and drilling. Some of those people helped finance his campaign. I think its safe to say that nobody's back is really itchy at this moment. Remember that guy Osama Bin Laden? You know...the one who had those 2 planes hijacked and crashed into the World Trade Centers, and 2 other planes as well, one of which hit the pentagon? He said that Allah told him to kill all westerners. Funny thing is I recall Bush saying that god told him to bring democracy over to Iraq. This god character sure has a sick and morbid sense of humor. Now I know its not much, but maybe just maybe some of you can heed my request. If you can't explain how a man invading a country who posed no threat to us and killed a ton of people so he and his friends could cash in, yet you voted for him...then could you just say you're sorry? Just a simple "Well, I wasn't really thinking at the moment and fucked up. My bad". Who knows She might even have it in her heart to forgive ya as well.

Kahran Ramsus Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Why does it matter? He's not up for re-election again anyways.
Guest Cerebus Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Congrats "Failed Mascot," you may have failed at being a mascot, but you succeed in being a dumb fuck troll! Have an award!
AlwaysPissedOff Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Ugh... I thought we'd finally gotten over this whiny, patronizing bullshit already.
Guest Cerebus Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Ugh... I thought we'd finally gotten over this whiny, patronizing bullshit already. This is CE. It never leaves. (And did I ever mention how much I fucking HATE my wife's job that forces me to spend way too much time around here? )
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Congrats "Failed Mascot," you may have failed at being a mascot, but you succeed in being a dumb fuck troll! If you disagree then shouldn't you be explaining why? I mean your counter-statement is very strong as it is, but maybe you'd like to share some insight.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Perhaps he's not a terrorist because he's not doing this just to cause fear and terror towards others, but there still has to be some negative title for this. I just don't see how invading a country and killing so many people on a mountain of lies for financial gain is any better than being a front runner for genocide or trying to take over an entire geographical region. It seems to me that alot of people are waving around the flag proudly and being ignorant to things like this. and to Kahran it does matter to me because this country has the power to say "Whoa now...hold on. We never agreed to you doing things like this." and then remove the man from office.
bob_barron Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 They did have that power. And 51% of this country said they supported the President's vision and agreed with his plans for this nation.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Ah what the hell, I'll have a go. I live in a country where the leaders profit on the hundreds of thousands of deaths over in the Middle East right now. People are always going to profit from war. We profited like hell from WWII, and nobody thinks there was anything wrong with that war. Where they have no problem sending the financially poor youth overseas to fight while they keep their own family safely stored away here. I agree that this is a problem. But it's not like people are being coerced into joining the military. You know the risks going in. Our Vice President is largely in charge of the company that is suppose to rebuild Iraq once we destroy it. I've read that Halliburton is really the only company with the capabilities of doing the type of rebuilding job required in Iraq. Sure, the no-bid contract looks bad, but what are ya gonna do? If you can't explain how a man invading a country who posed no threat to us and killed a ton of people so he and his friends could cash in From what I understand, all the intelligence said they had WMD. A crazy dictator with WMD is a threat. It's been argued that pressure was put on the intelligence community to produce evidence that Iraq had WMD, but this hasn't really been proven. And the guy that Bush removed from power "killed a ton of people." We try pretty hard to prevent civilian casualties. If you want to produce some solid evidence that Bushco waged war "so he and his friends could cash in" I would be open to convincing. Just saying it doesn't make it so, though.
KingPK Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 A) Only Congress can initiate impeachment. It's not like we can drag the guy out of the White House and beat him with reeds. Since the Repubs control Congress, impeachment just ain't happening. B) People always say "Impeach Bush". My question: why exactly? "Because I think the Iraq war is wrong and was only for oil" doesn't cut it. Let's hear some reasoned, factual arguements here.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 It's not like we can drag the guy out of the White House and beat him with reeds. EXCELLENT Idea.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 From what I understand, all the intelligence said they had WMD. A crazy dictator with WMD is a threat. And the guy that Bush removed from power "killed a ton of people." We try pretty hard to prevent civilian casualties. U.S. Intelligence from 2002 and beyond said that. However its been sited several times that the U.N. went in and found nothing on many occasions and even one of our former high members of the FBI said that Afghanistan and not Iraq was the threat. I understand Saddam killed many people, and I don't want to sound harsh or cold hearted in saying this but he killed his own people. I don't ever recall hearing that he was behind a bombing of one of our embacies in another country or attacked Americans(while not defending Iraq from invasion of course). I often wonder this now too. Say you live in a country somewhere in that area. You're country is rich with oil and you're leader isn't very popular at all to the rest of the world. What is the guarentee that you're safe from Bush crying out "Terrorists!" and invading for more oil? The problem is that the general public seems to now have this notion of Islam=Bad and thus all countries who have a population where the majority is Islamic are a threat to the U.S. It also doesn't appear that Bush has a problem with pissing off NATO or the UN.

My posts on this board are available and so is my blog. Feel free to check them. You may be a soft-spoken troll but I think this is the last bit of energy I'm going to put in for someone who displayed as much ignorance and silliness as you have by making this thread. Stop getting spoon fed your political opinions from liberal hacks like Moore and then maybe we can talk.

I don't ever recall hearing that he was behind a bombing of one of our embacies in another country or attacked Americans(while not defending Iraq from invasion of course). Um....he also got into wars with Iran and Kuwait? I'm not sure if he started the Iranian war (probably did), but he DID invade Kuwait with no provocation.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 What is the guarentee that you're safe from Bush crying out "Terrorists!" and invading for more oil? This is my problem with your premise. Can you proved Bush invaded "for oil"? Sure, American companies are gonna profit and more oil is gonna be available to the world market, but some Iraqis are gonna cash in too. And at least this will mean the end of the Oil for Food fiasco. It's not like we're going in, filling up drums with oil, and then bouncing. In order to prove that the war was waged solely for oil, you would have to disprove all of the other given justifications: we thought they had WMD, humanitarian reasons, corrupt regime, etc.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Um....he also got into wars with Iran and Kuwait? I'm not sure if he started the Iranian war (probably did), but he DID invade Kuwait with no provocation. I realise that, but he was stopped and then had everything taken from him in the way of WMD. He basically waved the white flag in that case. I don't disagree with him being removed, but the timing is awfully strange. He should have been removed from power back then. It would have saved numerous future lives in doing so. I also don't like being lied to. Tell me you invaded Iraq because you wanted to finish off what your father started or because you want the oil. Don't treat me and the rest of the public as if we're stupid and tell us he had a hand in what occured on 9/11 and that he still has WMD when they can't prove one part of that and the other part has been disproven.
KingPK Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 I just hope Bush keeps his campaign promise of "Two barrels of oil in every pot."
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 In order to prove that the war was waged solely for oil, you would have to disprove all of the other given justifications: we thought they had WMD, humanitarian reasons, corrupt regime, etc. Believe me. If I had the financial capabilities and the personnel resources to do so I would go in head first and try to prove this. I really believe there's presidence to show that what you said needs to be proved can be proved.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Don't treat me and the rest of the public as if we're stupid and tell us he had a hand in what occured on 9/11 They never said this. A lot of the public thought it too be true, but I don't think they ever said it.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 I just hope Bush keeps his campaign promise of "Two barrels of oil in every pot." Weird Stuff !
KingPK Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 They said that Saddam was aiding many terrorist groups, including Al Queda, so I guess a lot of Americans drew the conclusion (wrongly) that he aided in 9/11 as well, since that was what introduced pretty much everyone to them.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 smitty, do you just have various newslinks bookmarked? I mean the Arkansas News Bureau from late Oct?
Big Ol' Smitty Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 smitty, do you just have various newslinks bookmarked? I mean the Arkansas News Bureau from late Oct? It's stuff I already knew about and just googled real quick and took the first article. There's lots of info on that stuff if you wanna find out more.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Welcome to the 21st Century. Cerebus, a wise man once told me sarcasm was the tool of the weak. That cracked me up though.
