Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2004 This should be called "Worst of the Intercontinental Championship" Oh man, that was so great. Genius. You know, how you played on the words of the title there? Wow. You're so it.

res37618 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2004 Release date, please? I believe it's Jan. 25th, same day as the Andre DVD. If they're anything like the Michaels and Best of WM DVD, you'll immediately find them in WalMart's 5.50 bin when released. DeepdiscountDVD is selling them for 5.99 apiece on pre-order. Guest Loss Report post Posted December 15, 2004 Which returns me to my initial point, which is that having the HBK/Jannetty match on DVD is worth six bucks. Hopefully, it's not edited though, as MARTYEWR pointed out.

Hopefully, it's not edited though, as MARTYEWR pointed out. Exactly. There are hardly any DVD's I'd turn down at that price, unless it's just brutally awful. Every match involves Bret or Shawn, so that makes it an automatic must have at 5.50. If it was any more than that, I might think about it first, but at 5.50 . . . . you can blow that much at McDonalds in 30 minutes.
reign 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2004 They could add many more matches to an IC dvd.. some left off that I've seen would be Razor and Nash from SS, both ladder matches with Razor and HBK and definately Eddie and RVD.They should do a DVD history of the IC belt, showing not only the greatest matches but the history and controversy of the title. Guest krazykat72 Report post Posted December 16, 2004 The intro the video got is hilarious when you consider the matches included. The MOTY is obviously good and Skinner/Bret isn't bad, but Shawn was seriously dogging it all of 1993 when he wasn't in the ring with Jannetty. I don't know about that. He had some House Show matches with Randy Savage I'd love to see. He also had a match on 2/15/93 vs. Owen that was at a Superstars taping(non televised).... After Mania, he goes around the horn with Crush and Backlund, then has several draws with Hennig. He did the job for Hennig several times in May when he didn't have the title. He then defeats Hennig several times over the summer. Another match with Owen in 7/93 (untelevised Raw taping) Then prior to Summerlsam, he's in elimination matches with Diesel and Bigelow vs. Jannetty, Tatanka, and Hennig, then right before Summerslam starts facing Razor on house shows. Last show before Suspension is 9/93 w/ Diesel vs. Perfect and Tatanka. He returns for a squash match on 11/10 (less than 2 months) He has a few cage matches with Bret, does Survivor Series, wrestles Doink at MSG, has more matches with Savage, has a match with the Kid, one with Ramon and some more cage matches with bret to round out the year. I left some out, but I doubt he's "dogging" it all year besides Jannetty. His first ladder match with Razor was 1/9/94, then 1/14, 1/15, 1/16, 1/20, 1/23, and 1/28......I can only imagine how good these were..... -Paul Jacobi-
Guest Loss Report post Posted December 16, 2004 Little interesting story about the HBK/Razor ladder matches. IIRC, the initial response to them wasn't good, and on 03/12, Tracy Smothers and Chris Candido did a ladder match in SMW with some new spots that just happened to creep into Shawn/Razor 8 days later. Kudos to Shawn and Razor for adjusting.

Perhaps, I'll post on tOA and find out. -Paul Jacobi-
Guest Loss Report post Posted December 16, 2004 I'm also getting two matches confused. Supposedly, Shawn and Razor did make some adjustments after seeing the Smothers/Candido match, but it was Bret/Owen that was totally redone after not getting over properly on house shows. Guest krazykat72 Report post Posted December 16, 2004 JDW replies: I seem to recall you strongly pimping : a house show ladder match between : Shawn and Razor prior to 'Mania X.(on : some post a few years ago) Did I : imagine this? I did. There is a handheld of another one of their house show ladder matches leading into Mania. Jared did a mini-review of it and shared it with me. His thoughts are (i) the Mania match is better than the level they reached in testing it in the house shows, and (ii) the house show test was none the less a very good ladder match. If I watched the hand held back to back with Mania now, I probably would end up agreeing. John -Paul Jacobi-
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 but it was Bret/Owen that was totally redone after not getting over properly on house shows Are you referring to the Bret/Owen cage matches or some Ladder matches the brothers had? If you're talking about the cage match at SummerSlam then that's a direct extension of some cage matches Shawn and Bret had.
