Jersey All Pro Wrestling Results

Seasons Beatings 2004 12/10/2004

Attendance: about 500. I've seen JAP draw more fans, but not more financialy.

Carnage Crew(Loc and Devito def. The H Effect(Dixie and Deranged) w/Insane Dragon

This wasn't the squash match I expected, back and forth action. Good high-flyin moves from Deranged. Not anything special, despite the fact ROH has done this match 300000000 times. Finish saw Deranged go for a huricanranna off the top on Devito but he blocked it and Loc helped him to pull of the spike piledriver.

Kevin Steen def. Sexxxy Eddy

I thought this was a IWS title match but Steen didn't come down with the belt and it wasn't annouced it was on the line. Crowd wasn't too into Eddy, he has a unique entrance though, first time i've seen him live. Crowd was very into Kevin Steen however. Steen jumped Eddy just as he ripped his pants off standing over a young lady from the crowd. Innovative moves from both guys, good back and forth matchup with nobody really getting an advantage. Steen seems like he is trying to hard to get heel heat even though he doesn't need to. He's liked by the crowd but they know he's still a bad guy. Finish saw Steen hit Eddy with a "Steenalizer" which was very devastating.

The Christopher Street Connection(Mace and Buff-E) def. The Soultion(Papadon and Havok) w/ Jonny D to become the New JAPW Tag Team Champions

Crowd wasn't into this match that much. In the beginning of the match, Jonny D went off about how he isn't gay and then tried to leave with the Solution and get counted out. Booker Ray Sager stopped them and informed them that if they were counted out of disqualified they would lose the titles so they were forced to return to the ring and compete. I think the crowd was expecting a lot more "gay" spots from the CSC but this was actually a wrestling match. Jonny D jumped in the ring with a chair but was planted with a kiss by Buff-E right on the lips. Jonny slowly started to enjoy it and had a big smile on his face but was inadvertently speared by Papadon and this allowed Mace to roll him up for the win.

Roderick Strong def. Super Dragon

Awesome match. As expected, stiff shots back and forth the whole match. Some incredibly hard shots from Roderick Strong, and thats sayin something. There was actually a couple that didn't make Dragon flinch at all. Too tough that were beating the hell out of each other the whole match. Finish saw Roderick struggle with a boston crab for a while but eventually lock it on and make Super Dragon tap out it a matter of 2 seconds. Dragon didn't put up much of a struggle once it was locked on. Solid match though except for the finish that came out of nowhere.

Title vs. Career

Azrieal w/Rick Silver def. Jay Lethal to become the NEW JAPW LightHeavyweight Champion

I guess Azrieal isn't going anywhere. Big surprise for everyone in attendence. I was sitting right in front of Lethal's parents and if anyone doesn't know who they are, just attend one JAP show and you can spot them out as soon as Jay walks though the curtain and they were pissed. Excellent match as usual from these two. Azriel busted himself open with a chair after missing a shot at Lethal and having the chair bounce off the ropes back in his face. Rick Silver brought a ladder down to the ring but it was not used. Lethal teased a dragon suplex onto it as it was between the apron and the guardrail and then he teased Azrieals finisher. Its tough to explain, opponent on his shoulders, grabs their head and pulls it down, planting them head first in the ground, I think he calls it the "Surreal" Azrieal picked up the win after getting control on the top rope and hitting that move off the top into the ring. Both men shook hands and embraced each other after the match.

**INTERMISSION**

It was annouced that the winner of the Jack Evans/El Generico match would face Azrieal for the LightHeavyweight championship on January 29th.

RF Video will have FanCam DVDs and the Sabu Shoot Interview at the end of this week or early next week.

Number 1 contenders match for the JAPW LightHeavyweight Title

Jack Evans def. El Generico

It didn't take El Generico long to get over with the crowd, they love him, and of course, they love Evans as well. Great match, tons of crazy and inventive moves from both guys. Jack Evans has become the new (ECW)Rob Van Dam as he kicks out of everything, nothing could keep him down. El Generico teased his brainbuster on the top-turnbuckle but never got it off. I can't remeber specific moves that El Generico pulled off but i can remeber about 3 brutal boots to the face in the turnbuckle that Jack Evans took. Jack hit his moonsault DDT off the top and then hit a phoenix 630 senton for the win.

Teddy Hart def. B-Boy

Teddy is great and all, a lot of talent, great on the mic, he's very fired up and is way over with the crowd, but his psychology went right out the window in this match (even though who am i to talk about psychology, i've never wrestled) but the first two moves of the match were a sitdown suplex into a stunner and a "sliced bread #2"? Teddy had control for most of this match, B-Boy fought back towards the end. Crowd was in Teddy's favor. B-Boy had the match won after his trademark shinning wizard and a dropkick to the face while Teddy was in the corner but he picked him up off the mat at 2. B-Boy pulled his knee pad down for another shinning wizard but Teddy countered with a roll-up for the win.

Santa Clause and JAPW booker Ray Sager came out to give some gifts and prizes to the fans. Santa called out Jack Evans to help give away some gifts. B-Boy and Homicide came to the ring to get a peice of Jack but Fat Frank and Ray Sager tried holding them back. With Jacks attention drawn to them, Santa clobbered Jack with his "sac" and revealed himself to be none other the Low Ki. Ki proclaimed the crowd as some of the "dumbest son of a bitches" ever even though everyone around me, including myself and the people in the bleachers across from me knew it was him. They put a hurting on Jack pretty bad and Low Ki wished us all a "Happy Holidays" which was a nice touch on things.

JAPW Heavyweight Champion Dan Maff vs. Samoa Joe went to a time limit draw.

I usually don't agree with JAPW not having their Heavyweight Title matches as their main event but in this case I agreed with it. This was a very slow moving match. Both guys seemed to be blown up really quick. Comming off of a lot of fast paced intense matches, i'm sad to say this was a sleeper. Crowd wasn't feeling it at all and the finish was just not what the crowd needed after a match like this one. Out of nowhere it was annoced that there was 10 minutes left in the match. Now as soon as that was said, the crowd knew exactly what was going to happen, time limit draw because ROH won't let their champion get beat by their New Jersey "competition". With seconds counting down, Maff hit Joe with his "Burning Hammer" which got the crowd's attention and then it was 5...4...3... as Ref Hanson counted the 1...2..nothing...no bell, no 3 count, just a silent crowd and confused referee. Then we were informed that the time had expired and the match was a draw. Joe left the ring and Jay Lethal came out, (Samoa Joe's protege in ROH) and walked right passed him to help out Maff. As Maff slowly got to his feet as Lethal picked up the Title belt and just gazed at it. I heard Mama Lethal going "what...what's he doin, why's he lookin at the belt like that?" As Jay handed the title to Maff, he didn't let go. Both guys stared each other down, each holding onto the title. Lethal whispered something in Maff's ear and then walked away. I think this was a great way to setup the Jay Lethal push. He has been moving up on the eastern indy circuit like crazy and it all started with JAPW.

Homicide def. AJ Styles

This was a great match, back and forth action all over the arena. They took it up into the bleachers and Homicide hit a DDT on Styles that echoed throughout the whole arena. Ref Hanson was very funny to watch trying to get Homicide back in the ring. Both Homicide and Styles took him out when styles went for his trademark moonsault inverted DDT and Homicide threw Ref Hanson in the way, Styles grabbed him and both took down the ref. I heard that Homcide hit Styles with a lariat and thats what took them both down but from my angle i couldn't tell. At this point, B-Boy and Low Ki got involved allowing Homicide to hit AJ with the Cop Killer for the win. After the match the Strong Style Thugs beat down AJ Styles and Jack Evans came down with a chair, he called to the back and out came Beef Wellington, El Generico and Sexxxy Eddy. They drove the SST into the crowd and then Teddy Hart came out selling injuries like crazy like he always does. Jack Evans put over the new crew and then gave Teddy the mic. He put over AJ and put over his new crew as well. AJ then got on the mic and said that he will return and when he does its not just the Strong Style Thugs vs. the Canadians, now its the Strong Style Thungs vs. the Canadians and AJ Styles.

Great show, i loved it, a lot of intense action all night with the exception of the tag match and a large portion of the Maff/Joe match.

This was the first time i got to see JAP's new lighting system as well and i liked it a lot. Gives a newer, higher production value look to everything.

Sean McCaffrey's DOI write-up of the 2/12 World Wide Internet tapings for the next five weeks

Sounds like good stuff. Building up nicely for Maff vs. Lethal on 3/26, as well as furthering the characters of Reefer, Mana, Neeno Capone, etc

Some great matches taking place during the tapings there.

I like the character advancement of the new wrestlers in JAPW, like Neeno Capone. Man, I have seen him work, and I am DAMN surprised how far he is coming along.

3/26 results as posted by Fat Frank on the JAPW forum

I would to thank the near 600 fans that came out for Jersey All Pro Wrestling's 100th event last night at the ECW Arena. Just to clear something up, there was a brawl between the PWU and AWA Wrestling students during the show, and some fans might have thought this was a PWU vs JAPW set-up.

During this brawl Rockin Rebel made some comments about another company that also runs in that facility. While the two different fan bases where going back & forth, I came out and grabbed the mic and told them to take their grudge with that company and quote: " Get The FK Out of the building" a huge eruption of J-A-P Chants then broke out drowning out everything else!!

Another high-point was a "THIS IS AWESOME" chant that broke-out during the cage match and I have never heard that chant before in the ECW Arena. The show ended with huge J-A-P chants and the fans let us know that they do want to see us back in Philly!

Here are the results psoted by Bob Magee of www.pwbts.com

Jersey All Pro Wrestling made its return to the ECW Arena for its 100th live show over the promotion's seven plus year history before what had to be an encouraging crowd of 500 people.

Frank Iadevia and Ray Sager come out and basically try to give Jay Lethal the JAPW Heavyweight Championship. Lethal refuses to accept it without winning it in the ring. Then manager Rick Silver (think Joel Gertner on a diet, minus the MA-rated promos, but just as loud) comes out and says he has a new "client".

Insert shock and surprise here...out comes Homicide. Frank Iadevia worked the crowd asking them if they want to see the match here and now....so the match is to take place next, Homicide vs. Jay Lethal for the JAPW heavyweight championship.

1--Homicide over Jay Lethal

This was an excellent fast-paced match, as good an opener as I've seen at an independent show in memory...a match that would have been perfectly good as a main event. As usual, Jay Lethal's mom was screaming for her son all match long. The finish saw Low Ki run-in, but Lethal still manages to kick out. Then B-Boy also ran in to interfere, with Homicide getting the pinfall to become the new JAPW Heavyweight Champion.

2--Carnage Crew defeated Christopher Street Connection

3--Azrael defeated Grim Reefer. This match was a bit off, but that seemed to be due to Grim Reefer getting his bell rung early in the match.

E.C. Negro came out, only to be told by announcer Steve DeAngelis that he wasn't on the lineup. Negro did your basic delusional heel promo, telling the crowd how tonight the ECW Arena is the "E.C. Negro Arena".  Lights go out..."Back in Black" cranks up...and one of the loudese pops of the night ensues, as Chris Candido comes out to a standing ovation.

4--Chris Candido defeated E.C. Negro by pinfall

Good solid match with Candido looking like the Candido of old, with a sick looking table bump after Candido puts Negro on a table and went for a legdrop off the turnbuckle. Negro got out of the way, with Candido plowing through the table like a freight train.

5--Samoa Joe over Low Ki by pinfall

This match was stiff as hell, with the two trading stiff kicks and chops that had even the Arena crowd cringing. Joe was really good here, even going for a tope to the outside.

6--Trent Acid over Frankie Kazarian

Decent match, but one that looked as if Kazarian was protecting himself somewhat. For the finish, Johnny Kashmere (who'd had an early pre-match schmoz with Kazarian) hits the ring and makes the save for Acid. Acid gets the pinfall after a Yakuza kick.

Post-match, PWU workers and students hit the ring, starting what looked like a brawl between PWU students and JAPW wrestlers. Then Rockin' Rebel and Greg Matthews make a save, sort of.  Rebel then cuts a promo on ringside fans who were heckling him, with comments that sounded as if directed at CZW. A section of PWU fans and students starts a PWU chant, only to get the CZW fans in the crowd going with a louder chant to shout down the PWU section. Finally Frank Iadevia and Ray Sager comes out and tells the PWU crowd to "take their beef with CZW somewhere else", that this is Jersey All Pro Wrestling and not any other promotion.

7--6-Man Elimination Match

Nino Capone won the match defeating Envy, Matt Donovan, a wrestler announced as being from AAA whose name couldn't be heard, Pinkie Sanchez, and Arcadia. Way too long and out of place in the show. This match should have been much earlier in the show.

8--Teddy Hart and Jack Evans over Homicide and B-Boy to win the Jersey All Pro Wrestling Tag Team Titles

After a long intermission to get up the cage...this was the wild spot fest it was designed to be with spots like Evans hanging upside down from the top of the cage (head resting on top turnbuckle) and B-Boy jumping with a kick into a trash lid into Evans' head, a Teddy Hart shooting star press turned into an Ace Crusher, a Hart Orihara moonsault from the cage out to the floor, Hart moonsault from the cage into the ring onto Homicide and B-Boy, and a Jack Evans Phoenix splash off the cage.  At one point. all four ended up brawling outside the cage, with some front row fans handing some toys to Homicide, including what appeared to be a metal bowl, a NO PARKING sign, and even a fork. The metal bowl was repeatedly smashed over Teddy's head and eventually used by pretty much everyone in the match.  Teddy juiced bigtime...pretty well for a guy who whined about working a death match in CZW. Homicide carves Teddy with a fork repeatedly. Teddy bleeding so bad he tells the refs he can't see. Low-Ki comes out to help B-Boy and Homicide, with the Rottw...er...Strong Style Thugs...getting the upper hand over Hart and Evans.  The lights went out again...then back on with Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart inside the ring. Neidhart interferes in return to help Evans and Teddy win the Jersey All Pro Wrestling Tag Team Titles to send the crowd home happy as the old Hart Foundation music was played, and the crowd walked out chants for JAPW.

Jersey All Pro Wrestling returns to Rahway, NJ on April 23rd.

I believe they are having a JAPWWW taping at the AWA School in Union City. I should be going to that one, since the school is about 10 blocks away from me. Plus, I haven't been to a JAPW event, and this should be a little intro to JAP for me.

I went to the JAPW WorldWide Tapings, and here are some tidbits...

(SPOILER ALERT)

JAPW are letting alot of young talent shine big time in the next 4 tapings...

A lot of AWA guys were on the card, including Neeno Capone, Pinkie Sanchez, Danny Demanto, Mike Donovan, guys like that.

There was a lightweight showcase that had Ken Scampi wrestling, as well as Dan Barry.

H Effect made an effect on the show, big TIME. H Effect were winning their respective matches, until All Money is Legal appeared. They were ranting that they deserve a shot at the JAPW Tag Championships, but H Effect asked them for a match. The winner would then get a Tag Team Championship shot! H Effect won, which I thought it was match of the night.

The Papadon/Havok/Johnny D problems continue. During one of Papadon's matches, Johnny D came out to interfere, and Havok SPEARED HIM into the ring, and cost him the match. In a cool little thing, after the show, I was just mingling with my friends, half the arena left, but then out of nowhere, Papadon jumps Johnny and beats the SHIT out of Havok! The refs spilled into the ring, and had to stop the fight! JAPW truly entertained the crowd on this one. It was awesome.

Mana's rage continued as he destroyed his opponents, under the guidance of Peter Van Orton.

JAPW promised for the next tapings, bigger stars will be there, since Lethal and Homicide weren't there. They are also gonna do MORE tapings at the AWA School.
