Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted December 19, 2004 From the IWA M-S boards again: IWA Mid-South Wrestling, in association with NWA Midwest, presented its final live event of 2004 on Saturday night, 12/18, at the National Guard Armory in Rensselaer, IN. Here's what went down... 1. TRIK DAVIS & RYAN BOZ def. DAVEY ANDREWS & SHANE HAGADORN when Davis pinned Hagadorn following a double stomp off Boz's shoulders. 2. DAIZEE HAZE def. MICKIE KNUCKLES & LEXIE FYFE in a women's division three-way elimination match. Fyfe eliminated Mickie after a TKO. Daizee then pinned Lexie after a Daizee Cutter/Yakuza kick combination to win the bout. 3. "Double C" CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI def. MATT TURNER & "The Human Rulebook" CHANDLER McCLURE & EVAN STARSMORE & JOSH ABERCROMBIE in a five-way match when Claudio pinned Starsmore. 4. PETEY WILLIAMS def. "Spyder" NATE WEBB to retain the TNA X Division Title while holding the ropes for leverage. 5. DELIRIOUS def. MATT SYDAL with the Chemical Imbalance #2, in a match where neither Delirious's IWA Light Heavyweight Title nor Sydal's NWA Midwest X Division Title were on the line. 6. ALEX SHELLEY def. "The New Age Punisher" B-BOY via submission with the Border City Stretch to gain entry into the NWA Indiana State Title Tournament (to take place 1/22 in Valparaiso, IN). Shelley had his tag team partner PETEY WILLIAMS in his corner during the match, until the referee caught Williams interfering, and ejected him from ringside. After Shelley's win, Petey came back to the ring to celebrate, prompting IAN ROTTEN to inform both men that they'd have to face one another in the first round of the tournament. 7. BRANDON THOMASELLI def. JIMMY JACOBS in a two out of three falls match, scoring two straight falls. Thomaselli's first fall came from a roll up. Jacobs became increasingly frustrated as he attempted to score the second fall, but couldn't do it no matter how hard he tried. The second and deciding fall took place after Thomaselli's Air Raid Crash. After the match, Jacobs slapped Brandon across the face and then went on a verbal tirade against Thomaselli and IAN ROTTEN, citing favoritism being shown to the newcomer. Rotten announced that the two would wrestle once again on 1/14 in Rensselaer, with the loser of the match required to say he respects the other man. 8. CM PUNK def. NIGEL McGUINNESS via submission with the Anaconda Vise to retain the IWA World Heavyweight Title. 9. IAN ROTTEN & DANNY DANIELS def. BJ WHITMER & "Metalhead" STEVE STONE inside a steel cage, when Daniels pinned stone after a piledriver. During the post-match brawl, Rotten injured Whitmer's arm by repeatedly slamming it in the cage door. The event was filmed by Smart Mark Video for home video release, with commentary by Dave Prazak, CM Punk, Ian Rotten, and Nate Webb. It was announced that the return event in Rensselaer, on 1/14, will be titled "Gold Rush," featuring all IWA-MS related titles being defended on the same night. IWA-MS returns to action in early January. Here's the schedule as it stands right now... 1/8 Muscatine, IA @ Armory 1/13 Vincennes, IN @ Armory 1/14 Rensselaer, IN @ Armory 1/15 Highland, IN @ Lincoln Center 1/21 Bloomington, IN @ Armory 1/22 Valparaiso, IN @ Armory 1/28 Noblesville, IN @ Armory Call the IWA hotlines: 502-569-1701 in Louisville, 630-585-3958 in Chicago, and 317-579-3230 in Indianapolis. Attendance was 50-60. Good luck to IWA M-S in the New Year. Anyone want to post some suggestions on what Ian needs to start doing in the new year to pick things up, the little IWA M-S I've been able to see across here in the UK has been awesome and I'd hate to see the fed sink. Fro 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 IWA:MS's promotion has been terrible across the board. You won't know they have a show in town unless you read the Internet. Also, attendance around this time of the year usually takes a hit because there are high school basketball games in Indiana that draw several thousand people on the weekends. Not to mention it gets really cold, and National Guard Armories aren't exactly the best place to stay warm
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 Well, I've done my bit by ordering a whole bunch of videos from SMV for X-Mas. And I'm agreed on what Hawk said...from what I've seen over here, I've become an IWA:MS fan too. Not sure how Ian can go about on the money scale. Maybe if they promoted in a way similar to ROH, with a 'big' show a month and fewer of these double-headers it'd encourage people to go to the big events. Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted April 7, 2005 I know these have been posted already, just putting them in here too from the IWA M-S boards. The results from 3/19 were really scrappy and I haven't been able to find 3/26 results at all. Tearing my hair out. Anyone who has them please punt them in here. Cheers. IWA Mid-South Wrestling presented its debut event, "April Bloodshowers 2005," at the Civic Center in Herrin, IL on Friday night, April 1st. Here's what went down... 1. TRIK DAVIS wrestled "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON to a time limit draw. 2. DAIZEE HAZE def. RAIN with the heart punch/Yakuza kick combo to retain the NWA Midwest/IWA Mid-South Women's Title. 3. "The Iron Saints" VITO & SAL THOMASELLI def. ERIC PRIEST & SILAS YOUNG and TJ DALTON & LONESTAR after the Thomasellis hit the pendulum/double stomp on Dalton. 4. DELIRIOUS def. JOSH ABERCROMBIE following the Chemical Imbalance 2 to retain the IWA Light Heavyweight Title. 5. "Outlaw" BILLY GUNN def. TRACY SMOTHERS following the Fame-Asser. Smothers had Rain in his corner for the evening as his manager. 6. MsCHIF def. MICKIE KNUCKLES in a First Blood Match after busting Mickie open with her spiked vest. The two brawled all around the Civic Center, and into the lobby and concession stand. After the match, Mickie challenged MsChif to a return match on 4/30 in Herrin, in a steel cage. 7. NWA Midwest X Division Champion MATT SYDAL wrestled NWA Indiana State Champion BRANDON THOMASELLI to a double pin in their title vs. title bout. The double pin occurred as Brandon gave Sydal an O'Connor roll, and bridged back for additional leverage on the cover, as the referee counted both men's shoulders down. 8. IAN ROTTEN def. JC BAILEY after throwing a fireball in his face, in a Ropes Wrapped in Barbed Wire/Tables Match. 9. JIMMY JACOBS def. DANNY DANIELS to win the IWA World Heavyweight Title. Jacobs couldn't pin Daniels following the Contra Code or two back sentons off the top rope. Finally he hit a third back senton off the top, and covered Daniels with his feet on the ropes for leverage to win the match and the title in just under 30 minutes. NOTES: The event was filmed for home video release from a ringside camera angle, and will feature commentary by Dave Prazak... Attendance was just under 200, and was the company's highest attended event for a debut show in a new venue in history. We return to Herrin on 4/30. IWA Mid-South Wrestling returned to the National Guard Armory in Salem, IN on Saturday night, April 2nd for "Payback, Pain & Agony II." Here's what went down... 1. DAIZEE HAZE def. RAIN following a modified version of the Daizee Cutter to retain the NWA Midwest/IWA Mid-South Women's Title. 2. SAL THOMASELLI def. TRIK DAVIS following a butterfly brainbuster off the top rope. 3. TJ DALTON def. CJ OTIS & RYAN ASH in a three-way matchup. 4. DANNY DANIELS def. "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" TRACY SMOTHERS while holding the ropes for leverage. Before the match, Daniels told the fans of Salem that he's never liked hillbillies like them, and he only appreciates the fans in the Chicago area. Smothers, who came out with Rain for the second night in a row, fired her as his valet for not helping him win in Herrin. As she went back to the locker room, Daniels stopped her, and asked for her managerial services against Tracy. 5. "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON def. JC BAILEY following the Glimmering Warlock to earn his first IWA-MS victory since returning from his collarbone injury. 6. DELIRIOUS def. VITO THOMASELLI after the Chemical Imbalance 2 to retain the IWA Light Heavyweight Title. 7. "The All-Stars" CHANDLER McCLURE & BRYCE BENJAMIN def. IAN ROTTEN & MICKIE KNUCKLES in an intergender tag team contest after a double team maneuver on Mickie. Jim Fannin was in the corner of the All-Stars for the match, and aided in their victory, ramming Ian into the ring post. 8. "Outlaw" BILLY GUNN def. "Underwear Model" ERIC PRIEST following the Fame-Asser in the main event of the evening. NOTES: The event was filmed by IWA for home video release, with commentary by Dave Prazak, Jim Fannin, Trik Davis, and Tracy Smothers... Attendance was the highest for an event in Salem since the 2003 Ted Petty Invitational... IWA-MS returns to Salem on 5/20.
