Guest Coffey Report post Posted January 3, 2005 My votes: 1.) Finisher: Black Hole Slam 2.) Tag Team: D-Ray 3000 & Shark Boy 3.) Babe: Traci 4.) Who to Watch: Bobby Roode 5.) Memorable Moment: TNA’s “Impact” June 2004 debut on Fox Sports Net 6.) Mr. TNA: Raven 7.) X Superstar: Kid Kash 8.) MotY: Triple X vs. AMW (Six Sides of Steel / Turning Point) My reasoning: 1.) It's underrated. I like how Abyss does damn near a 360 when he does it. It's like the old Bossman Slam only better...and I marked for the Bossman Slam. 2.) I think that TNA should be a family oriented company, like they said they would be. D-Ray & Shark Boy are good for kids and provide entertainment. Plus they don't blow a lot of spots. 3.) Traci is the hottest, plus she's a good worker and takes bumps. 4.) I've been on the Bobby Roode bandwagon for a long time. He has "the look." Not to mention he's a solid wrestler. Not phenominal, but solid. He works kindof like Val Venis. 5.) I didn't think they'd get a TV deal, so that was pretty memorable. 6.) Raven's "Destiny" storyline was what would've made or broke TNA. They fucked it up and haven't been the same since. Had it went the other way, I think TNA would be more successful. To me, that means he was TNA at one time. That says "Mr. TNA" to me.... 7.) He's probably the best heel in the company, so I had to vote for him. 8.) It was slow at some parts, and some things took way too long to set up, but it didn't really have a lot of competition this year. I think it wins by default because it's still fresh in everyones mind and had a couple "holy shit" spots.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 Laz Votes: FINISHER: Black Hole Slam. Abyss' finisher has been the best this year, as it is simple, looks VICIOUS (you CANNOT tell me that you don't think Abyss is breaking somebody's ribs when he does it to them), and can be done to opponents of any size. TAG TEAM: Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian. None of the other teams have gelled as well as these two. Considering I dislike both? That says something. I'd have said XXX, but Skipper seems to have NO drive anymore, and they were booked TERRIBLY this year. BABE: Traci. All the rest were either short-term deals or are fucking ass-ugly, or were fired. WHO TO WATCH: Johnny Devine. The man shows charisma in the ring, displays a solid understanding of timing and psychology, and just LOOKS like the perfect prick heel. MEMORABLE MOMENT: AJ Styles regains the NWA World title. For three simple reasons: FUCK - JEFF - JARRETT. MR. TNA: AJ Styles. He's put up with all of their bullshit, and still put on solid matches. Had a very good series with Abyss late last year and early this year, and even carried those sacks of shit Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett to watchable matches. X SUPERSTAR: Chris Sabin. Based on push alone, Sabin IS the X-Division. MOTY: AJ Styles vs. Abyss (Tables). No other match on the list was either as good, or I'd seen (since I, essentially, stopped watching TNA halfway through the year). I would have picked the King of the Mountain match had somebody - ANYBODY - other than FJJ won.

Sass 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2005 The last AMW vs. XXX tag match reminded me why I didn't like the KOTR '98 HIATC match with Mankind and the Undertaker. Elix pushed it more than he needed. The match would have been fine without the big cage leap of faith spot. I thought AJ vs. Abyss was better than the series of matches that Benoit had with Batista and Kane. But Eddy vs. Bradshaw had better worked matches and the bigot crap actually gave a sensible cause for Eddy going after JBL. Somewhat. The other feuds just saw them spinning their wheels tirelessly. Hogan & Jarrett in New Japan was definitely memorable. If not only for how badly Hogan ended up burning TNA.
