NFL Week 16

Normally I hate the ESPN crew, but this game is so horrible a team of Cosell, Keith Jackson, and Jesus couldn't make this turd any more enjoyable.

I've never seen a game where both teams want no part of winning.

Well with that win, the No. 2 pick overall is pretty much guranteed to the Cleveland Browns, and the No. 3 to the Dolphins due to their week 1 loss to the Titans.

Anyone see the Garcia interview? He was struggling to hide his digust of the team and basically really wanted to say "I hate cleveland".

I'm gonna be the only one to dare call this for next week: Saints over the Panthers to make the playoffs. I have no idea why but the thought of the Saints being in the playoffs despite being almost total garbage is just hilarious to me.

It's a damn shame because he's basically been thrown under the bus here. You can see how awful the team is without him, so why did he get piled on so much when he was playing?

There are so many players on the roster that have no business being in professional football that it's scary. And that includes our "Quarterback of the Future" Luke McCown.

Here's my question: The Browns said McCown was going to start the rest of the season so they could see what he's got. He's proven time and again over the last 4 games that he has very little, if anything at all to work with.

So NOW what do you do with him?

Anyway, back to Garcia. I don't blame him in the least bit for being frustrated by what's gone on this year. He was never the problem, so I don't see why there was a rush to replace him.

So next week, NEW ORLEANS Vs. CAROLINA...

- Philly is in at #1.

- Atlanta is #2.

- Green Bay is #3.

- Seattle is IN and may be #4 (I'm prediciting, b/c even if St. Louis wins tonite against the Eagles bench, they'll lose next week, as their team is trash).

- Minnesota will most likely be #5.

Leaving...New Orleans, Carolina (winner of next week's game has better record) and St. Louis.

Can New Orleans upset Carolina and steal the #6?

Discuss.

Even though Carolina is 7-8, they're still playing better now than most of the NFC. If the Saints win next week (unlikely), they'll be quickly and effortlessly eliminated from the playoffs by Green Bay. If Carolina gets in, Green Bay is in for a fight and a decent chance at a first round loss. We know Carolina can play Atlanta close, and without TO, Carolina is looking at the same Eagles offense they mauled last year, so don't count them out.

The mere idea of an 8-8 jobber like Carolina threatening people in the playoffs is kinda sickening, isn't it? Let's hope the Packers just put them out of their misery...sure it's nice to recover from that 1-7 start but does anyone outside of the Carolinas want this team repeating in the NFC?

I'm telling you, the Saints on a given day can muster it up enough to win. For some reason I think they'll get a flukish, lucky win against the Panthers and then get killed the 1st round, haha.

I hope Big Ben's ribs are just bruised and he'll be ok for the playoffs. I don't really like the Steelers but I was one of the people before the drafts saying that Big Ben was going to turn out to be the best of the 3 and I was mad that he was drafted 11.

I just remember telling my parents "This guy is great in college. He'll be a better pro than Eli and Phillip" and them being like "Never heard of him! Who does he play for? A small conference school? Pfft he isn't anybody!" and now he's doing great and I'm happy for him and everyone seems to have jumped on the Big Ben bandwagon which is fine b/c he's a great guy so I hope he turns out ok from this rib injury.

So are you going to make any more predictions UTSU like last year and then run off when the Eagles lose and not show your face till next year?

Reports here seem to indicate Ben's just bruised, and if next week meant anything he'd play. Since it doesn't, he probably won't. He should be fine for the playoffs.

By the way, any Bills fans expecting to play the Pittsburgh JV team next week keep in mind that Hines and Bettis are both close to 1,000 yard seasons and will probably play long enough to achieve those, and the backup QB is still Tommy Maddox.

As far as the hit that put Ben out, I really didn't think it was cheap. Worthy of a roughing call yeah, but I don't think it was uncalled-for cheap.

Besides, the Ravens D had to have something to crow about since the Steelers O-line made them their collective bitch. Nothing made me happier than seeing loudmouth Ray Lewis get knocked 5 yards backward on every play.

Just John said:

BRIAN WESTBROOK.

Duce Staley sucks.

Pinkston is going to have to grow some balls if the Eagles are going to win in the playoffs this year.

Actually, I'd like Seattle to come to Philly for the divisionals so it can be the Battle of the Head Cases: Todd Stinkston vs. Bobby "The Blanket" Taylor.

The Seahawks are really no threat to anyone. They might get to the divisional round but any further? Eh.

I'm telling you, it's the Saints' year...to get beat in the 1st round.

As compared to last year, the Eagles' defense is much better, as they're doing a better job now stopping the run and the pass defense has actually improved as well.

What I'm worried about is a good defense such as Carolina's focusing in on Westbrook now without Owens, and the other players having to step up. The offensive line hasn't been too hot either in the past 2 conference championships as McNabb was getting pressured all the time.

What the Eagles need to do in the playoffs is get ahead early and hold the other teams' offense down, as not having Owens is going to hurt the passing game unless one of the WRs and the TEs step it up. They won't be able to get into shootouts now due to Owens not being there, so the defense is going to be key in the playoffs.

The Seahawks are a threat if their defense streaks at the right time as the O can hang with anyone.

The D is the problem.

If the Seahawks play the Pack again in the playoffs, whoever's working the scoreboard is going to have a busy night.

If the Steelers were at 100% going into Buffalo this week, they'd still lose. There is no way the Bills aren't winning this game. No way.

Wouldn't that be the case with Seattle/Minnesota too?

LOL.

That's what teams have been saying for the last, oh, 13 weeks.

Actually, I think I do remember you disappearing when the Eagles got rocked by the Panthers in the NFC Title game.

Speaking of whom, if the playoffs started today, the Panthers would be coming to Lambeau, and that scares me.

I still say we wouldn't have been rocked if that late hit hadn't occured on McNabb. His tore the cartilage in his ribs and still tried to play. He got hurt pretty early on too.

That play can be blamed more on the officials for not blowing the whistle once McNabb was down. Greg Favors thought the play was still going on due to the ref not whistling the play dead until late.

Also remember that Thrash and Pinkston were getting punked out by under 6 foot CBs as well.

It's been said before by someone else but.....my grandma could cover Pinkston.

The thing was that last year McNabb was able to make things happen with his legs and once they lost that in that game, hope was gone.

Also don't forget Philadelphia last year, and pretty much the last 3 years, had been riding on the strength of their defense rather than their offense, and they had no running or receiving threat, so Donovan was fucked whether he was in the game or not. Carolina had shut down an offense that was much better than Philadelphia's last season the game before in the Rams,so it wasn't too surprising the Eagles were going to lose that one, though I was hoping for an Eagles-Patriots matchup that we might or might not see this year.. Although I hope they at least schedule it for next year so we can finally see it.
