Turns out she has a huge DVD and figure collection and had been a fan for a long time. Plus she had a fridge full of beer, so you gotta love that too. It's the only source of income WWE seems to have. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 27, 2004 Problems with The Rock and Kurt Angle: Almost all of their matches came under the "Attitude Days". This is more crippling for the Rock, which means blurr-a-mania running wild non-stop. At least Angle has been active (kinda) for the last 2 years so they could use some stuff without worries of the "WWF" shit. A Dusty Rhodes DVD set won't sell. I have never ran into fans who've ever said "Dusty Rhodes is awesome." I could see WWE doing a Bret Hart DVD down the line, and a Four Horsemen set is rumored all the time. The Undertaker has had a long enough carry to cover up for 1998-2001. Bruno Sammartino DVD won't draw for today's fans, and not many older people watch WWE anymore. Savage and Piper are wild cards. Why you think Flair did so well?. Bruno's DVD would be Vince's baby and the old time fans would salivate to see this again. Vince would shove it down the throats of the consumers just because of how much he loves Bruno. Piper is a whack job but he'd sell. Savage would clearly sell. A Bret DVD has been dicussed for along time between Bret and Shane McMahon, so it's going to happen eventully. Bret wants Full control of the libary and Shane and Co. want bret to do promotional on air stuff for it. Once they settle with an agreement, it'll be done. Who cares about the Blurs? Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 27, 2004 He was booked as the Common Blue Collar Hard Working not the best looking but busted his ass to make ends meet type of a man and it sold pretty well in the 80's because that was their market. The Common Blue Collar market. No he couldn't work a match but he was great at working a crowd. The DVD would really just be for the niche Old School middle age market (which the demos show is the BIGGEST demo WWE has)...The DVD should be a modest success if done right and promoted right. I know that a 38 year old walking into a Best Buy and scrolls by the aisle and notices a DUSTY RHODES Collection DVD for 21.99 and he was a big fan of him back in the day will suddenly get a burst of nostalgia and plop down 22 bucks plus tax to revisit those memories and unlike us fickle fans, he still wont care what work rate is. Working long matches mean nothing, and nearly all the matches with Flair were horrid for the most part. Long Matches? I don't think they ever went past 25 minutes. Thats not long. 40+ is long. Guest sek69 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 Well lets see, Dusty was easily one of the best promo guys in the NWA, and the ongoing Dusty and Friends vs The Horsemen was the main feud for a soild couple of years. I felt his matches with Flair were decent considering Rhodes's physical condition and the fact that even in the 80s he was past his prime (he started wrestling in the late 60s I believe). He was a major name in the 80's and alot of those people that picked up Flair's DVD are the same people who would pick up the Rhodes DVD. Rhodes DVD would be a good nostalgia seller. The match on the Flair DVD from Starrcade (85 I think) was pretty good, but if Dusty isn't your style then he isn't. Just like I don't care for Bret no matter how much you try to convince me. Luger was actually once relevant. 1987 he showed so much promise, he got the Orton Push but was actually delivering that year...then they fumbled the ball and he never cared anymore because he discovered the "I'm made now, no effort is neccesary" credo. The thought of the Horseman going from a group as awesome as they were to having Luger just seems unfathomable. And a Dusty bodypress seems just wrong as well. Brock SSP wrong I can't believe I hit my 1000th post talking about Dusty Rhodes and Lex Luger Luger wasn't even the worst horseman. I think it not only ruins the viewing because of the distractions, but is probably also a pain in the ass for the people who have to blurr every single "WWF" Attitude logo on the screen, from the titan tron, the turnbuckles, fans shirts... everything. Three hours that went by like it was three minutes, and all completely compelling. For the matches, Flair's, bar none. Bloodbath gets disqualified for chopping the Bruno-Zbyszko match all to hell and then not including the complete match as an extra. The most famous cage match ever and it gets glossed over? The first one did such a great amount of sales that I think it would be an obvious choice. They didn't even touch his feuds with Luger, Sting (I hated the "Unification Match"), or anything in the WWF besides the Rumble Match. Sure, it wasn't big or anything, but it was based around an entire episode of Primetime Wrestling, they were on opposite sides at the 1992 Survivor Series, and of course this match. Wouldn't mind seeing some stuff from the Summer of '92 where he and Perfect kept doing the "Who's side are we in, Savage or Warrior" angle leading up to Summerslam. Some good promos.
