Bored Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Today's Schedule Music City Bowl: Alabama vs. Minnesota, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN Sun Bowl: #19 Arizona State vs. Purdue, 2:00 PM/11:00 AM, CBS Liberty Bowl: #9 Boise State vs. #10 Louisville, 3:30/12:30 PM, ESPN Peach Bowl: #14 Miami vs. #23 Florida, 7:30/4:30 PM, ESPN Do we really need a game between 6-5 teams this late in the bowl season? Sun Bowl could have been a 49-48 classic but no Andrew Walter means the Sun Devils probably get their ass kicked. Liberty Bowl obviously will be big on the points but I think Louisville wins by at least three touchdowns. If Miami loses expect people to start speculating about Larry Coker's job security. Hey that's the way it goes in college football now.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I feel bad for Arizona State. They're dead in the water without their starting QB and HB.
Agent_Bond34 Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 This is going to be one awesome day for bowl games. Louisville/Boise State, Florida/Miami... and the Sun and Music City bowls don't look half bad either. I think it should be quite a fun day. Happy New Year, everybody.
Guest Crazy Dan Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I am very excited for the Liberty Bowl. Game of the Day. Boise St has built a very solid program, which have many teams refuse to schedule. I saw the play of ESPN, and their Offense is a well oiled machine. And they are explosive, so any lead is in danger. Louisville is also stellar team with agreat Offense and very improved program. Too bad the coach might leave for the LSU gig. But regardless, this will be a shootout. I do believe Boise St has more to prove with this game, as they were a BCS snub, so a Victory here will help them greatly. But I think Louisville will have more offense tools to take the victory in a close shootout. The Winners: The fans
Vern Gagne Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Going by the announcers, you'd think Mike Shula was his freaking dad in terms of coaching ability. Close game. Not very good. But close.
Bored Posted December 31, 2004 Author Report Posted December 31, 2004 3-2 ASU leads Purdue late in the first half. Who expected that score? Glenn Mason's decision to take the safety almost bites him in the ass but Minnesota survives with the 20-16 win.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Bah. Minnesota shouldn't have won that game because of that blown fumble call that refs seemingly didn't see even though the Ump was RIGHT THERE. Fucking jackasses. Now I want Instant Replay more than ever now.
Damaramu Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Wow the Big Ten is no 2-0 in conference play. May have been an underrated conference.
Damaramu Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Wow so far the score in the Liberty Bowl is only 10-7. I was expecting it to be like 14-14 or something like that at the end of the first quarter.
Bored Posted December 31, 2004 Author Report Posted December 31, 2004 It took one play into the second half for Purdue to score more points than were scored by both teams in the first half. 80 yard touchdown pass, 9-3 lead. I missed channel surfing college football. Wish they'd have more game opposite of each other during bowl season.
Damaramu Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Spoke too soon......Louisville comes roaring back. 14-10 and it's still the first quarter.
Guest Smues Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 24-21, 8:36 2nd quarter. Now this is the game we were all expecting.
Damaramu Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Lefors is having trouble getting something together now. This game is crazy.
Vern Gagne Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Just want to mention how great the talking Bass ads are.
Guest spidyfan77 Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I am so fucking embarrassed right now. That 1st half was a total disgrace if you're a U of L fan. I mean Jesus Christ 2 INTS??? A fucking fumble on a kickoff? Petrino being a complete retard and going for it on his own 19??? It's well known that he's likely leaving for LSU, frankly if I was Jurich I'd fucking fire his ass after this shit anyway. It's as if he's deliberately tanking the game as one last "fuck you" to the Louisville fans. The sad thing? Boise is BULLSHIT. That is the absolute weakest unbeaten team I have ever seen. They have 31 at the half here and I bet 21 of it is just U of L fucking up constantly.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I think the Boise fans were chanting LSU earlier in the game. Ouch.
Bored Posted December 31, 2004 Author Report Posted December 31, 2004 CBS just put up a graphic saying ASU quarterback Sam Keller has his first career win. They did this with two minutes left still in the game and ASU still only up by four points. Then of course ASU has a punt blocked and now Purdue has it at the ASU 35.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Totally forgot the Sun Bowl was on. Whoops.
Bored Posted December 31, 2004 Author Report Posted December 31, 2004 Touchdown Purdue, go up 23-20 with 1:22 left. Poor ASU as they've completely outplayed Purdue today. Just like that ASU scores! Awesome fourth quarter.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 ASU goes 80 yards in 35 seconds. That was amazing.
Damaramu Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Wow the Pac 10 picks up a bowl win. Making them 2-2. USC can either give them a winning or losing bowl record. If A&M takes it tomorrow the Big XII has a winning record despite what Texas and OU do.
Guest Smues Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Boo bad ASU. After CBS said that it was the ASU quarterbacks first win I really wanted Purdue to win and make them look stupid.
Guest Smues Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 35-34 going into the 4th quarter. I was hoping for a 100 point game, it'll be close.
Damaramu Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 LOUISVILLE WINS! That was a crazy ending. The nations longest win streak comes to an end and OU's record from the 50's is still safe. Haha that's all I really care about.
Guest spidyfan77 Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 My God, Dama...I am just exhausted after that. I swear I thought at half we were just fucked, playing similar to the way we did when John L. Smith was rumored to leave for Michigan St. (when Byron Leftwich kicked our asses). Michael Bush was just a man among boys in that 2nd half...that broken play on the halfback pass turned run was just astounding. Luckily we overcame our own inept play and somehow pulled it out. Game of the Year anyone? Though U of L has been in a few this year: Miami, Memphis, and this one.
Damaramu Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 If I had ended up going to Louisville I'd have been at that game. No doubt in my mind. But since I didn't I can just stay home and clap politely. Haha.
Guest Smues Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Terrible clock management by Boise on that last play.
Agent_Bond34 Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Quite terrible. Although, had Zebransky gotten that first down, we wouldn't even be talking about that. Coulda, woulda, shoulda... I guess
