Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Big-time sack by Georgia to force a Wisconsin field goal attempt. They WORKED for that one. Powerful, head-jarring football being played all around today thus far.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Texas A&M just shot themselves in the foot. A muffed punt leads to a Tennessee recovery.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 ANOTHER TURNOVER!? JESUS CHRIST! That's it. It looks like it's up to Texas to represent today. It's only the 2nd quarter and I think this game is over. *shakes Kotz hand* Good job.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 TD run by Cedric Houston to pretty much start nailing down the coffin lid on Texas A&M who've struggled on offense and made mistakes all over.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 And A&M is just having everything go wrong for them after a made to order 3rd and 20 conversion failed and Tennessee was forced to punt. The crowd can only stay enthusiastic for so long, and A&M desperately needs a score to keep this game from getting out of hand. 21-0 Tennessee.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 A&M just looks disjointed and out of it. The defense has to get a stop and then the offense needs to score a touchdown. Maybe they should pretend Tennessee is from Oklahoma b/c those are the only 2 teams A&M has looked stellar against this season! Jesus!
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 And now A&M gets a false start penalty. They're basically beating themselves.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Their defense absolutely needs a stop here after that false start penalty thwarts an Aggie series. I'm not sure they'll be able to do it. And MAN are both teams jacked at the Outback Bowl. Big Ten/SEC matchups are always intense for some reason. Probably due to a similar style of play.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Man this Cotton Bowl is extremely dissapointing after what Texas Tech did to Cal. Ugh......what else is on?
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Tell you what, if Tennessee can win this game in the same fashion they've dominated it thus far, they'd damn well better get a #12 or maybe even #10 ranking for the end of the season, 'specially if Georgia can beat Wisconsin. I can't stress enough how well Phillip Fulmer coached this year, and how frighteningly good we'll be as early as next year.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 And that fullback handoff just broke the back of the A&M defense. Caught TOTALLY off-guard, and Tennessee is poised to go up 28-0 in a minute. Make that 28-0 now pending the extra point.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Fortunes on the rise for the other SEC representative as well, as Georgia gets a pretty sweet touchdown. 10-6 Bulldogs. Yeah, we beat them too.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 And a delay of game kills any chance of possibly converting that 4th down. A&M's offense shows signs of wanting to break out, but they just can't do it. That defense that rose up against Auburn in the second half of the SEC Championship and for most of the season is showing up. Man, nothing feels as good as a lead in your bowl game. Man, I looooooove football.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 The A&M virtual home crowd is making a final stand. If their defense doesn't force a punt here, they'll totally lose this crowd and any chance of victory.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Yeowch, that personal foul won't help nail A&M in the coffin.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Jesus. I wake up and it's 28-0 Tennessee? I'm going to need Michigan to come up big to stay alive in this contest.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 As amazing as it sounds, A&M could be back in this game 28-14 by the end of their first possession of the second half.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Play that song, band. WHOO! Rocky top Tennessee! Best band in the country, too.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 1, 2005 It took me 2 hours to find the fucking cotton bowl. (fox? i never knew they had college football) all to see Tennessee smacking it down. I'm paying attention to the Outback since it's close and hard hitting. I'll check out the Gator bowl during the Half... WV scores to bring the game 10-6(missed EP) in favor of the Seminoles early in the game for the "we are forgotten about" bowl.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 It must be a nightmare at the Outback Bowl. What happens if you lose the people you came with? "I'm in the red, look for me." Numbers for the first half of the Cotton Bowl (UT-A&M): Points: 28-0 1st Downs: 15-5 Total Yards: 307-119 Passing: 192-103 Rushing: 115-16 Penalties: 5/50-4/20 3rd Down Conversions: 3-6 1-6 Turnovers: 0-
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Rocky Top rules and so does flipping back and forth between college football games going on at the same time.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Holy shit, I forgot all about the Gator Bowl. I manage to do that every year somehow.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 The Gator Bowl is over on NBC. I never watch that game either, for some reason.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Making the Gator has to be the most offensive bid possible. I bet teams would rather play the Insight.com bowl then the Gator Bowl. It's ALWAYS forgotten about on New Year's day in favor for the bigger bowls like Rose and Fiesta and the other "secondary" bowls tend to be "bigger" like the cotton or outback or Capital One. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 And to give us our most simultaneous games of the day at four, the Citrus Bowl is about to get underway on ABC. Should be a dandy. Speaking of things being dandies, I can't wait to hear Keith Jackson calling a Rose Bowl on New Year's Day, one of the true treasures of being a football fan. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 If Texas can smack up Michigan, which I fully expect them to do and the gameday crowd agrees with me, the Big XII will have a winning record in bowls which is better than last year where they went 2-5.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 And to give us our most simultaneous games of the day at four, the Citrus Bowl is about to get underway on ABC. And it makes picking a game to stick with more difficult. I love it!
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 I like that Tennessee has so many capable quarterbacks to choose from for next year. It's one thing to have to scramble for a replacement for an outgoing player, it's another to have too many good players to choose between.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Will "Capital One" ever get over as a bowl name? I doubt it. It's ALWAYS the citrus bowl for people, even though it's been the C1 bowl for about 3 years now.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 The unfortunate part about the Citrus Bowl is that damn commercial with those vikings will be on about a gazillion times.
