UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Philly without TO = The Best Defense in Football. Please explain to me how that changes. They also have the Quarterback who would be MVP if Peyton hadn't had one of the greatest seasons a QB has ever had. And they have a playmaking runningback. TO's only one guy. The Eagles are a team and better than every team in the league except Pittsburgh.
Gert T Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 If Cincy, Kansas City & Houston win today, that'll be 12 teams in the AFC with at least an 8-8 record, good enough for the final NFC Wild Card spot.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Philly without TO = The Best Defense in Football. Please explain to me how that changes. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA You're fucking kidding me right? Pittsburgh, New England, Buffalo and Washington defenses blow Philly's out of the water. Facing shitty conference offenses for almost half your games doesn't make your defense great. Your team let Cleveland move the ball all over you and score 31 points.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Philly doesn't have too good of a run defense. Look at the Pittsburgh game. Or any game practically (except Green Bay... that was just a drubbing on the part of the Eagles).
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Eagles defense has changed significantly since the Pittsburgh game. So what? Run defense? The Eagles "have had a shitty run defense" for years. And they still have the best record in football over the past 5 years.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Eagles defense has changed significantly since the Pittsburgh game. That may be so, and I do think the Eagles COULD beat the Steelers the next time around, but they do have some work to do before being declared the best defense.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Man, the "gotta win" teams (Rams, Vikes, Bills, Ravens) sure aren't looking hot.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Slasher, they can only play who is on the schedule. Fact is, they've given up the least points (save for the Ram game, which they didn't care about). What teams are you guys rooting for the grab the final playoffs spots... AFC... Baltimore, Broncos, Jets, Jaz NFC.... Vikes, Rams, Saints, Panthers
Cartman Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 And they still have the best record in football over the past 5 years. Where has that got them? Still haven't won a Superbowl yet. My opinion that will not change this season either.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 In a perfect world, I'd have Bills and Jaguars take it in the AFC and New Orleans and Panthers in the NFC. It's too bad Panthers and Saints are playing each other and one WILL go home.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 TOUCHDOWN SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 And they still have the best record in football over the past 5 years. Where has that got them? Still haven't won a Superbowl yet. My opinion that will not change this season either. Exactly. You can go 16-0 for a decade and it won't mean shit without a Super Bowl ring attached to any season.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Haha, damn CBS just showed the three NFC Title game losses in a row in a clip package. Yeah, I want New Orleans and I don't care about the other teams, I hate Vikings and Rams equally. AFC-wise, I want Buffalo and...I guess...Jacksonville.

Though it'd be hard for an undefeated team to NOT win the NFL title.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 My point wasn't that the Eagles are the super bowl champs for having the best record over 5 years. My point was that run defense means little if your overall defense plays huge in the red zone and your pass D is outstanding.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Chad Johnson hurt. This injury looks familiar...
Gert T Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 AFC: Jets, Ravens (Ravens won't happen, but I'd like to see a Ravens-Colts rematch) NFC: Vikings, Panthers
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Im still waiting for a clip, but it was a 71 yard break by McAllister that said up the TD for NO.
Cartman Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Poor chad. I'd love nothing more than to see the Jest(not mistyped) lose and miss the playoffs. Buffalo would be a good upset team in the Wild Card round then the pats could embarass Drew again.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Johnson is gonna be okay, as is Michael Lewis. He made the initial "pound the fist cause I know I hurt something" motion, but CJ after limping seems to be okay. Man nothing worse than 2 instant replays in the first half of a meaningless game.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Go Rams, take 7-3 lead on Bulger TD.
Cartman Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Buffalo is worthless. Can't even move the ball on Steeler 2nd steing defense.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Ah shit what am I saying, Jets better win...I won't to see them choke and all but I want NO in, and they need the Jets to win.
Gert T Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Johnson is gonna be okay, as is Michael Lewis. He made the initial "pound the fist cause I know I hurt something" motion, but CJ after limping seems to be okay. Man nothing worse than 2 instant replays in the first half of a meaningless game. Especially since both calls seemed to be wrong. 14-3 Redskins, this is classic.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Yeah, both referees reviews were terrible. Johnson made the catch, as did (was it Greg Lewis) for the birds. Both were deemed non-catches. Birds are pulling more starters and have totally lost interest in this one. Simoneau hurt and getting x-rays....BOR-ING. Jets lead.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 And for you all, this WEEK 17 RECALL... This radio call has been brought you you by the fine folks in Minnesota: :::Cardinals score touchdown with no time left::: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! The Vikings have just beem eliminated from the playoffs! I can't believe it!" Funny thing is, with a CAROLINA LOSS, Vikes are in, unfortunately. Wish Car and NO could both make it, too.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Saints are gonna score again. Edit: 14-3 Saints!
KingPK Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 What an absolutely pathetic first half at Gillette. They should keep the starters in for the start of the 3rd because they didn't DESERVE sitting out the rest of the game. Still gotta show up for the last game, guys.
bob_barron Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 I don't get how the Rams winning screws the Saints over since the Saints beat the Rams 28-25
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Well, one way is the Rams winning the NFC West. Which would eliminate the Saints. The Saints (7-8) need a win coupled with either a St. Louis Rams loss or wins from the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings to make the playoffs for the first time since 2000.
