One more thing for the Eagles, is they need to draft a backup QB and not one of the Holmgren disciple sixth round project types. They need to use a third or fourth rounder on a Greene/White/LeFors level player.

If you have a really good team like The Patriots? When they draft someone are they more drafting for the future down the road as opposed to right now like some of the lower teams are doing? B/c teams like The Pats may just have everyone they need right now. Still though I think The Eagles need to draft a good wideout. I mean it wouldn't be smart to do everything in your power to try and get Mike Williams. But get someone good to compliment TO and Westbrook.

With all the rumors of Edge or Alexander possibly going to Miami I think it's best to wait on that. If they don't end up getting one of those two (also, Travis Henry) I would love for them to draft Benson. Dama, if I were in charge of the Pats, I would trade some picks for next year, the year after, etc... They are pretty much set atm, a big play WR would be nice, but totally unnecessary.
nl5xsk1 Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 The Pats have a few holes that need to be filled ... - their age at LB has to be a concern - they could use a taller, more physical wide-out - their secondary is made up of 'getting old' (Harrison, Poole), 'still too young (Samuel, Wilson, Gay, Moreland), and 'most likely leaving' (Law), so I wouldn't mind seeing them pick up another DB

I didn't even think Benson would go Top 10 b/c he's such an underrated performer sometimes(notice i didn't say all the time). Who is going to be #1 this year?

If San Fran picks, it could be any position EXCEPT a running back. The Niners already have Barlow and another running back, so that's one of the few positions they don't need to fill.

Guest El Satanico Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 My team (Cleveland) must draft offensive linemen, and they must draft them early not late round reaches/experiments. From what I've heard and read this is a strong draft for offensive linemen. They should draft LT in round 1 and a G in round 2. They could also use a game changing play maker on the defense, but offensive line is more important at this point. Taking a QB in the first 3 rounds would be a mistake for them. We've done the draft QB high and throw him into the fire with no protection thing, so now is the time to get the protection before getting the QB. Besides, Garcia would be fine for another year if we get a coaching staff that will let him play his game. The old coaching staff tried to turn him into a pocket passer, which made no sense.

On that note allow me to reiterate what I have said many times about UofM players in general. They rarely have a huge amount of success in the NFL. The reason for that is simple: They usually have such a great team that the individual players end up looking better than they really are. Running backs run better behind thier above average O-lines, QBs throw better to above average WRs, etc...

Guest Failed Mascot Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Ty Law is a shut down corner and has over 60 career picks I believe. Brady just wins, and has won games in the final moments of games several times. These are great players.
