2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 The Pats are in big trouble now. The secondary is a band-aid that is covered in blood and not sticking well anymore.
MikeJordan23 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 The Pats are in big trouble now. The secondary is a band-aid that is covered in blood and not sticking well anymore. No doubt about that. If the Pats win a SuperBowl now, Bill has to move into top 5 consideration (All-time coaches), cause I'd find it hard to believe they'd get passed the Colts now. They won't get past NE or Pittsburgh.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 It's bad, but it's not like it's the most devastating thing. The team still went 8-2 without him, and they still are near the tops in the league against the pass. Manning will get pressured by the Pats' front line, and the Pats will put up a bunch of points on the Colts (they've averaged something like 32 a game in the last few years). Pittsburgh might, MIGHT be a different story. EDIT: Ok, so I looked it up and they are middle of the road, but it's not just cornerbacks that play defense, you know. Seymour being out will be more of a problem than Law.

He'll have enough time to get off his throws.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 7, 2005 So? Manning had a great season all last year and completely fell apart in the AFC CHampionship. He never plays well against the Patriots. At least this time around the Colts won't have any excuses for why they lost.

At least this time around the Colts won't have any excuses for why they lost. If Indy does, they will have an excuse planned. They ALWAYS have an excuse planned. I just think the New England secondary is in bad shape right now. Course if the Colts want to beat the Pats, all they have to do is hand the ball to James. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Maybe this year it'll be because those asshole N.E. DBs have the gaul to actually catch his poorly thrown passes.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Maybe this year it'll be because those asshole N.E. DBs have the gaul to actually catch his poorly thrown passes. Or those bastards had the NERVE to tackle our players when they had the ball. Something must be done. We need a rule that prevents defenders from tackling offensive players when they have the ball. And isn't it kind of funny not one of us believe for a second the Broncos could actually WIN the game against the Colts?
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Bummer, but we're still good enough to win it all, no excuses
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I don't care. Everyone can get injured and they can bring in the 49ers to replace the team and Belichek will still beat Manning. Pittsburgh should be able to beat New England without Seymour and Law...but I liked their chances when they had those two anyways. I don't think N.E is screwed here, it's not a T.O level injury. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I have to say that I've really started to dislike Peyton Manning a lot this year. He seems to always have an excuse for losing and he came off like an ass while trying to break the TD record. I didn't really appreciate the Colts running up the score in a lot of games just to pad his stats. I can't wait for the day that he starts whining about the teams lack of defense. Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Colts will be difficult but they can be scored on real easy. If you can hold their offense to a FG every now and again then I think you'll do fine against them in general. The Pats are very disciplined too and don't leave their assignments which is what that stretch that Manning and James often causes. If the Pats end up playing Pitts. I think they can beat them too. Brady just has to play mistake free and having Branch, Brown, and Dillon in there will help him do so. Pats are definately going to have to look at CBs first in the upcoming draft. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 To be honest the Colts really haven't been running the score up on that many teams. Against the Bears and Lions they basically took him out of the game after 3 quarters. I think the Ty Law injury is just as big of a deal as T.O. I seem to recall Law intercepting Manning 3 times last year...who is gonna do that this year? Troy Brown?
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Eugene Wilson, Tedy Bruschi, and Randall Gay haven't been too shabby in the picks department. Harrison also has a thing for picking off Manning.
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 I didn't really appreciate the Colts running up the score in a lot of games just to pad his stats. THat's why he took the knee when he could have easily broken the record against the Ravens? I thought the Colts only tried to run up the score on Houston, passing with a big lead in the fourth quarter. Their final TD in that game, though, was a defensive one. Did you watch football on Thanksgiving? They had a real comfortable lead on Detroit and rather than run the ball and kill the clock Manning was still launching it into the endzone late into the 3rd quarter. Actually I was quite annoyed by that because he didn't seem to have a problem running it up on the Lions, Texans or Bears this year. It just seemed silly after he had been throwing bombs late in other games where they had sizable leads. He's still my least hated Manning but that's not saying much with Archie and Eli. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted January 8, 2005 The Colts defense is notorious for giving up big plays, therefore it makes sense to accumulate as big a padding on the scoreboard as possible. Plus it makes their opponents look like chumps. The Colts are winning the Superbowl, by the way.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Seymour won't miss any time Seymour is 50/50 to play next weekend ... and even if he plays, he won't be 100%. And losing Seymour is MUCH worse for the Pats than losing Law.
