Vyce 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 He didn't do much of anything other than punch/kick on Raw. Finisher is the Flatliner. I wasn't impressed, which is a shame, since he's really good on the mic. Yeah, but we knew that coming into this. Meltzer had been reporting for months that Magnus / Hassan was going to be one of the next OVW guys to get called up, and virtually every analysis given of the guy was that he was very good on the mike but mediocre at best in the ring. Better than Tomko? Like that's hard to be. I maintain that, even in the current WWE climate of Heidenreich's and Snitskys, Tomko remains one of the worst workers I've seen in my near 13-year "career" as a wrestling fan. benoit4hor 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 For everyone who keeps saying "stupid crowd he's from america" Maybe the reason they are chanting USA is because he's badmouthing the USA, not because they think he's foreign.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 They're a stupid crowd because he's saying "America is racist" and they're chanting "USA!!" in response. Are they... agreeing?
Guest Coffey Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Well, they can't very well chant "I heartily disagree with your sentiments. America is in fact a fine country." can they?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Sure they can. Or they could not chant at all. Crazy suggestion, that.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 If they get that chanter guy from Conan, they could: "America is actually a melting pot of many cultures and religions, where everyone has the right to free expression, and with effort can accomplish anything they want to. You are just deluded to racial stereotypes and don't want to face facts and see that America even tolerates you saying many bad things about it. I hope one day you take a good look around and see how wrong you are being when making the kinds of comments that you do. And if you wanted to change the perceptions of Arab-Americans, why become a wrestler? You could do more good as a spokesman for some Arab-American group." Just read that like him. I guarantee it would be funny.
evilhomer 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Finisher is the Flatliner. Not quite the flatliner/downward spiral which is more like a russian leg sweep. He's using Scott Steiners last finisher from his WWE run (that Taker occasionally uses as well), I believe it was called the painkiller.

He's using Scott Steiners last finisher from his WWE run (that Taker occasionally uses as well), I believe it was called the painkiller. in SD Game terminology that is the Complete Shot Scott Steiner, Undertaker, and a few others had used that move over the past few years. In reality its a decent enough move, but it doesn't seem to be something too unique.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Kanyon made it look good, Steiner made it look like shit, it just depends how well he does it. It's kind of a generic finisher though, and overused.

It's kind of a generic finisher though, and overused. its not the Flatliner, that is the same as the Downward Spiral, a total reverse Russian legsweep, the complete shot is just grabbing the guy with almost a facing headlock and just falling backwards
Guest Nater Report post Posted January 14, 2005 Why is Hassan failing? His debute was made and broken by the appearance of Mick Foley. How do you not accept a match from this man? He talks the talk, but only walks so far as to compete with the senior staff and athletic JR. All this talk and no action is what is killing him, does he have inferior abilities that they are trying to conceal by not giving him any ring action? Talking can take you far, but at some point you gotta back it up. How many months of promos has it been and to this point we've yet to see him do anything more than include vague racist remarks and other cheap 90's heat. How is Simon Dean winning? Encounters with the most popular of Raw's mid-card just about every week. Audience participation garners way more reaction than a one-sided promo that leaves the crowd chanting 'USA' like Hacksaw was running around. The fat ridicule aspect is brilliant. There is nothing that makes Americans feel insecure about themselves than their image. If Hassan clued into this on his promos, he'd be golden and go somewhere. I genuinely hope that Dean keeps getting his ass beat and getting out there to rev up the crowd, and perhaps whoever takes Hassan's place can do the same. Vyce 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 The answer is, of course: Hassan vs. Hogan at WM 21. Make it happen, Vince.
