Blurs on the attitude era events I won't mind.  What I WILL mind is the fact that any WM with Jesse commentary will have his comments edited completely out because Vince is too cheap to settle up with him.  Gorilla talking to a phantom broadcast partner who never replies for hours straight would be intolerable.

Jesse's been heard in DVD extras for Hulk Still Rules and other discs. So, I don't know what the details of Jesse/Vince are, but that might blow holes in your nightmare.

OK - here's how it goes:

WWF - They can use Jesse's commentary on anything that has already been released on video once before. So, a proposed WM Box Set shouldn't be affected at all, since it's already been done.

WCW - Nothing can be used - if it's WCW material, he has to be edited out. Period.

Hope that clears it up for everyone.

What I don't get is why Jesse's WCW commentart can't be used. Presumable WCW and Ventura had an agreement ofsome sort, because WCW released their PPVs on VHS. I assume that Vince would have inherited that agreement when he bought WCW. And if not, why not just see if Jesse would extend whatever agreement he has about WWF footage to WCW footage.

I was really pissed when I got the Foley DVD and and the Ausitn "What?" DVD and it was just Tony talking to himself with long pauses in between. They should have at least gotten Foley and Coach to do an alternate commentarty track.

Whenever something illogical business decision is made, just assume a lawyer was involved somehow.

why have they released stuff on DVD then with Jesse's commentary still intact, when the matches never were released on video previously?

Yes it was, I believe clips from that match were shown on one of the Hulkamania vids, or one of the early Coliseum vids, so it's OK. Hulkamania 3 was pretty much entirely focused on the Hulk vs. Andre feud, so I would bet that some part of that match was on there as a prelude to their breakup.
