Nightfall 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 I know we have a Rumble thread already, but that's REALLY cluttered with predictions and whatnot. Ok, here's what we know so far. Raw: 1. Edge. 2. Shelton Benjamin. 3. Christian. 4. Kane. 5. Chris Jericho. 6. Shawn Michaels. - 9 spots left for the Raw roster. Smackdown: 1. Daniel Puder. 2. Booker T. 3. Charlie Haas. 4. Luther Reigns. 5. Mark Jindrak. 6. Orlando Jordan. 7. Scotty 2 Hotty. 8. John Cena. 9. Rey Mysterio. 10. Eddie Guerrero. 11. Kenzo Suzuki. 12. Hardcore Holly. - 3 spots left for the Smackdown roster. Now, I went to WWE.com for roster lists, took out the women and announcers, and here's what we're left with. While some of these people are already in matches, look at Edge, Kane and HBK. They're in both a match AND the Rumble, so I won't count anyone out. Raw: Rob Conway Sylvain Grenier Batista Benoit Garrison Cade Mark Henry Matt Hardy Maven Hassan Rhyno Flair Rosey Richards Tajiri Hurricane Tomko Venis Regal Snitsky SD: Akio Al Snow Bill Demott Kidman Bubba D-Von Chavo Bashams Funaki Heidenreich Nunzio Paul London Dupree RVD Shannon Moore Spike Undertaker Some of these peeople have already lost their qualifying matches, but like in the case of Haas, he already won a match, and was then put into another qualifying match vs. Orlando. So, who do you think the last spots will go to?
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 Batista is a definate. Same with Benoit. Taker & Heidenreich, IMO, won't be in it. Matt Hardy won't be in it. I don't think he's scheduling a WWE comeback until much closer to Mania. RVD won't be in it due to his knee injury / surgery. I wouldn't mind seeing some new / old faces that we haven't seen in a while. Not the Honkytonk Man but someone like that. This might see the return of the Dudley Boyz, coming in one after the other, and hitting a 3D to pop the crowd. From 2000 to 04, they've yet to be in the Rumble match, despite being on the card. Guest SoZe Report post Posted January 24, 2005 Anyone else find it a bit odd that Michaels and Edge are entered in the rumble, even though they have a match with each other? You think they'll be taken out of the rumble, or just be on the show twice?
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 Michaels and Edge should be taken out of the Rumble, or at the very least something has to be done to ensure they don't make contact. I think they'll be having a rematch at WM XXI, in which case they should not be touching so soon after having their first singles match.

Even if that match does happen at WM XXI, Edge and Michaels will surely have a rematch at some point, and so shouldn't be touching again the same night of their first singles match. jester 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 It wouldn't surprise me if they throw in one of the Diva Clones. They have to justify their paychecks somehow.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 On Smackdown I see Funaki & The Bashams taking the final spots. Since they are champions and all. They don't have any filler matches yet, so I expect Funaki to defend his title. And lose it. Didn't London qualify at a house show?
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 It was reported inaccurately that London's win was a qualifier. It wasn't.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 Ah crap. It would have been nice to see London in a big match (if only very briefly).
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 I'm sure Maven will end up in it since they've been pushing him lately. Wouldn't surprise me if La Resistance ends up in it too.

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 24, 2005 Last year's show had 6 matches. Last Man Standing Lesnar/Holly World Tag Title Match(evo vs dudz) Mysterio/Knoble Eddy/Chavo Rumble. So far we have Triple Threat WWE Title World Title Casket HBK/Edge Rumble So it's likely a possibility we can get Funaki/Kidman here.

At the Royal Rumble we only usually get about 4 or 5 other matches aside from the Rumble. 4 is a very small number of extra matches, and there's always at least one filler match in between the bigger ones... there'll be one or two more matches, mark my words. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 But last year, the tag title match was very short, and the cruiser match was like 3 minutes. Those two matches wont equal the time given to Taker/Heidencrap. Holly/Lesnar wasn't especially long. HBK/Edge = Longer. Orton/HHH will be briefly shorter than HBK/HHH was. Eddie/Chavo wasn't very long. WWE Title 3-way will be longer. So you see, its all even.
