TNA is depressing

Recommended Posts

I've finally been able to watch Impact, and my God, did it ever depress me. The younger guys had potential, but the guys that I recognized looked so old. Chris Candido was never my favorite wrestler, but it was the first time I saw him in a long time. It was sad, really.

I have to admit that they annoy me by bringing in the so-very-old "name" wrestlers. Raven is off doing his own thing, and the Nash-Jarrett "press conference" was really kinda sad.

However, I did like the fact that the main focus of the show was Daniels/Styles. Too bad they can't give us more of that stuff.

Yeah, I agree. From what I can tell, there is/has been potential for this company with promoting younger stars. It happens to an extent, but not completely.

And to think of all the "old" wrestlers WCW used who STILL end up on TNA. They were old then and now they're putting themselves at risk by even taking a bump. I realize Shawn Michaels somehow recovered from his back injury, but since when were Nash, DDP, etc healthy?

Well although i don't like the old dude's being there. TNA needs them there to draw people. I think it's a good plan, draw people in with the big names...even though they are old as fuck, people still wanna see em. And then keep the people there with the good wrestling. Just like WCW did back in the day.

They just need to learn from WCW's mistakes.

Yeah, it has a weird vibe to it with the massive ammount of ex-WCW guys around, and I can only take that in small doses, but there's still a lot of potential in the younger guys there.

I still enjoy Hall & Nash on occasion, I like the "Kings of Wrestling" Elvis thing they've got going, and I hope they're just getting the Nash push out of the way and letting Kev get his feel for the six sided ring before using them to elevate AMW and other midcarders. Probably a longshot, but I like the guys and don't want them in the main-event, so I can imagine how the average fan would feel about it. It was at least a good sign that Hector Garza was getting a push against them, maybe they can pick that up with Ron Killings or Siaki, neither of whom is used to their potential.

I still like DDP too, but if they don't use him right it's going to suck. There's nothing wrong with giving him a token world title shot, or even a short reign, but his main role should be helping talent that's had less exposure than him. He's a good guy to put over Monty Brown in his first title defense.

Candido and Mero don't really bother me since they're openers/midcarders and are really just enhancement talent at this point, they can teach some shit to the younger guys, and they both look ok in the ring.

These guys are still new to the company though, so I've got hope that after the initial push they'll be used in the right way, but history tells me to be skeptical.

Candido has looked great since his return.. and really if given some less jobber like tights.. I wouldn't mind seeing him move up the card a bit.. Keep him in the X-Division.. but you know..

Also.. is Cassidy Riley a regular now? I know he used to partner with Chase Stevens of the Naturals, but he's been on Impact what.. 3 weeks in a row now?
