What about this site would get it...

Recommended Posts

At work we are allowed internet access, within reasonable use, like checking email, and doing mild surfing during breaks and slow periods. Now of course people abuse the fuck out of this policy, and I tried to come here the other day, but the companies software autoblocks this site because they say it is classified as a game site. Not "gaming" like gambling, but just a game site, which is odd because I can use yahoo which has a grip of games on their site. I am just wondering if there is something specific about this site, maybe in the html coding or something, that sets off a red light to the company's software!?!

One time my old high school's filter blocked me from going to my wrestling yahoo group because of "adult content." To this day I have no clue what possibly could have triggered that reaction.

Back in the library at 97 the same thing happened to some pro wrestling sites.

At my high school in '99 grandtheftauto.net was blocked because it was "pornographic". Yep. Internet blockers are really smeared too thick.

In high school we had this really annoying web blocker called Bess. Everytime it blocked a page it would show a picture of this stupid dog and say BESS CAN'T GO THERE or some crap like that. It blocked the bad stuff sure, but it also made it near impossible to go to the sites you were supposed to as well. For example the guy in Biology who had to do a paper on XXX syndrome. Of course he couldn't do a damn thing for that with the school computers.

 We had that in our high school also. My friend had to do a paper for his chemistry class and the dog claimed the website had porn on it.

I hated that damn dog. Blocked just about everything except www.google.com, and then it would just block all your search results. On the plus side we found ways around it from time to time so we'd have open internet until the school caught on and fixed the hole. DIE YOU DAMN RABID DOG

All you have to do is take an AOL Install Trial disc, and load it onto the PC. Most blocker programs have to be programmed to block out the internet program you use to block it.
