Special K 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Books and even comic books are less regulated than non-porn movies. It takes something as crazy as American Psycho to even cause a stir book-wise.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2005 valid, but still doesn't account for Suicide Circle, in which the kids are doing all that stuff of their own accord (sortof), but in BR they're forced to do it, and some of them don't even participate.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2005 Well, one of them volunteered in the movie. You can't really make any definitive statements about books. There's plenty worse than AP around, yet Catcher In the Rye caused quite the controversy as well. You never can tell with books.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2005 ok, one, and some of them went along with it pretty quick, but it's still because of the government program
Guest M. Harry Smilac Report post Posted February 1, 2005 The difference between Suicide Circle and Battle Royale is that the latter came out around the same time as or shortly after Columbine. Add to that a rumor Toei wanted a million bucks for US distribution rights. Great flick that I like to pretend never had a sequel made for it. The picture at netflix is for a Tartan UK version. They did release a version which I own that is Region 0 NTSC so that's probably what they're sending out to ppl.
