natey2k4 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2005 Well I got 3 WWE DVD's for $25 (CDN) to raise my collection to around 35 or 40 for wrestling DVD's.. just wondering if the three I picked up were any good... WWF Summerslam 1999 WWF Unforgiven 2001 WWF Summerslam 2000 Thanks for any feedback!
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2005 Summerslam 1999 is decent, with a shockingly good Test v Shane McMahon Streetfight, though I don't know if the match holds up well. Unforgiven 2001 is a mixed bag, with a hot RVD v Chris Jericho match, and a horrible match with Undertaker and Kane v Kronik, as well as decent support matches. SummerSlam 2000 is a really good event as well, with some great matches and stunts. I'd call that $25 well spent.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2005 I liked them all except for a few matches on each. Nice picks!

res37618 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2005 Yep, I'd say you did just fine with that purchase. SummerSlam '99 is a pretty good event, as is Unforgiven 2001 (especially Austin/Angle and RVD/Y2J). I personally went to SummerSlam 2000 in Raleigh, and it was an outstanding PPV live. Got the DVD last year, and it again didn't disappoint. The first TLC match is on there, plus Rock/Angle/HHH (Angle gets a legit concussion, thus fucking up the match - but, in their defense, it was still a really solid outing). Those two matches alone were worth it, but you've also got Shane McMahon falling from the top of the SummerSlam entrance in an insane bump (padding or not), and a really good Jericho/Benoit 2 out of 3 fall match. Good purchase, my friend, hope you enjoy them.
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2005 You actually buy things without knowing what they are? Well I look at the matches.. and think I might enjoy them.. and if their dirt cheap.. why the hell not? I like expanding my DVD collection, which is sitting at around 300 (40 or so wrestling)... so why the heck not.

In both that match and the ANgle match at KOTR 01. The Kronik/UT and Kane match is so bad that it got Kronik fired.

No, Undertaker whining to the office about how not-ready Kronik was got them fired. Actually, it was the bad match that good them fired, and not anything Undertaker did. After the Unforgiven match, Kronik were asked to go to OVW/HWA to train, which was considered WWF's way of saying, "Please quit, we don't want you here." One of Kronik, not sure which, quit, while the other went to OVW/HWA for a week or so, before eventually quitting.

Ahh I heard other versions to the story where Taker told the office that Kronik couldn't work and he had to carry the match himself, hence leading the WWF to fire them. However, I won't pretend to know EVERYTHING about WWF/E, so if you know the story, then that's what I'll believe.
