JN News 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 -- Most insiders believe Edge needs to win his match with HBK, although cannot guarantee that will happen. Those who support an HBK victory are using the excuse that a 'loss betters Edge's character,' an argument that many sources do not buy into. At this point, HBK vs. Kurt Angle seems to be likely for WrestleMania 21, but it is not known if WWE will start the build for that match at the Rumble. -- WWE seemed to blow the outcome of the triple threat match with advertising for the No Way Out main-event, although it is not known if WWE will try and pull a swerve and have Kurt Angle win to "shock" the Internet. Many consider changing the planned outcome unlikely since there are already plans in place through WrestleMania. Source: WrestlingObserver.com

Guest Loss Report post Posted January 30, 2005 I love how they take a simple Meltzer preview where he speculates on what may or may not happen and report is as news. Meltzer did NOT say there were people lobbying for HBK to defeat Edge, nor did he say that the idea of Angle winning was even being entertained. He was just speculating. cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 There's a big difference between news "from the Observer" and news from the Observer web site. This is from the Observer (1/31/05) which I received yesterday. "In Amarillo, they did a Rumble preview match with JBL, Angle, and Show, with JBL pinning Angle, which should be the Rumble finish (with, at the Rumble, Michaels costing Angle the mach after Angle costs Michaels the match with Edge since there is no logic in Michaels beating Edge, and Michaels isn't losing that one cleanly)." SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 ^That just might be Meltz showing he'd make a better booker than the current crew.^ -- Most insiders believe Edge needs to win his match with HBK, although cannot guarantee that will happen. Four most common phrases on wrestling "news" websites: "most insiders" "backstage sources" "in recent memory" "some blame Triple H"

LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2005 Well, today Dave did some more speculating on Brock's rumored return, and he thinks it's probably unlikely. Not that I ever agree with more than 50% of what Dave speculates on, but... Today he had this in his update: "Michael Cole did an interview where he said Teddy Long would announce the 30th guy after the conclusion of the three-way title match." Now, considering the premature No Way Out ads featuring a Show/JBL cage match, my guess is that Show gets a Rumble spot and he and Cena do some kind of unclear elimination, so Show gets JBL at NWO and Cena gets JBL at Mania. That, or Kurt goes to the Rumble and he eliminates Cena or vice versa, and they wrestle at NWO. Or...we get a surprise, but I doubt it's Brock. But I could be wrong. We will find out in a few hours.
