Looking for a new author(s)

So yeah recommend some good authors for me to check out. Some things that I have read and enjoyed recently:

 

Great and Secret Show, Everville - Clive Barker

 

Gunslinger Series, most other King novels

 

R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt stories

 

Dragonlance (really just the original trilogy, never checked out the rest)

 

Some Michael Crichton, a lot is repetitive though

If you're into horror then check out Bentley Little. Start with just about anything but The Return and you'll be alright. Try and pick up The Store or The Association...the guy's one sick bastard.

If you like fantasy, (seems you do, though maybe less than horror)

Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin

Sorrow and Thorn trilogy by Tad Williams

Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman

 

Though I don't read much horror (Lovecraft is good) I would be leary of Edward Lee. Sure his book I read was gross, but it was hardly shocking. Not suspensful at all and pretty poorly written, IMO.
