Promoter Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 I find it interesting how out of the five selected, only two have been in the "50 Greatest WWE Superstars" book produced about a year ago (Sheik and Orndorff). I thought I was the only who noticed this? I seen at another website that people are overlooking Iron Shiek's honourable nature that helped Hulkamania and the expansion. I guess he was alluding to the Vern Gagne rumours of offering the man big money to break Hogan's leg and take the WWF title to the AWA. Folklore or truth it sure makes a damn nice story(to tie into Hogan being inducted I bet). How can Vince not put him in the HOF for doing that?

The rest were largely heels for the majority of their careers though Orndorff played a Face briefly obviously. And why is Solie a lock? Not arguing it but just curious to why he is a lock?

Did Solie ever work for the WWF? I thought he was more of a Independant announcer, NWA AWA WCCW etc etc... I Have the Lords of the ring Wrestling tape that had him and another guy from Pro Wrestling Illustrated on there... its actually a cool tape to introduce people too wrestling of the late 70's and early 80's though they don't go into anything about the WWF outside of just mentioning them.

I'm really getting tired of this mentality that you have to be a WWE only worker to make it in the HOF. It's a HOF for ALL OF WRESTLING now. Gordie has always been and always will be considered the greatest announcer of all time.
Promoter Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 The Solie rumours come from Jim Ross who stated it would be nice to have him inducted this year(just as Vince alluding to Hogan in the media). It's true all the men inducted so far are known basically for being heels. I guess it could be another sign that the biggest face of all will be inducted.

All he needs is Dibiase(which i wouldn't be shocked to see) and Sting(...now that's as unlikely as Bruno)
